There are so many beautiful cues here, I figured I'd mix it up with something ugly.
I present to you the greatest break cue of all, the Travesty 2K12
(Pardon the table, my coworkers keep the office messy)
Starting its life as your standard Action Cue (one of the "house cues" for the table at work), the shaft encountered an unfortunate accident. Apparently my coworkers thought it was funny to use it as a baseball bat for ping pong balls. The stone columns thought otherwise.
The poor Action Cue was one foot in the grave, but alas, we said we can rebuild it faster, stronger, but we don't want to spend any money.
First came the duct tape body armor. We had to put a bandaid on the buttcap because the breaking power was causing too much back pressure.
1 extra Carl's Cue break shaft later (extra from a friend's "Breucci"), The cue was reborn. In fact, The Travesty's spirit animal manifested itself into the forearm. (ignore the sharpie from the previous pic).
All in all, I haven't broken with cue yet, for fear that I may lose my arm.
Wish me luck, I hope I don't take someone down.
