I am going to list this R9 for sale that I recently picked up. I had plans to have the butt refinished, a new wrap installed and ivory ferrule installed to round out the look of this awesome and scarce cue.

Sometimes in life, we have to make a sacrifice for the things that are more important than a cue or the time it takes to save up money, watch AZB or Ebay for the right cue, and purchase that cue. It is such a time for my family.

11 years ago, my wife and I decided to adopt a dog from the Humaine Society of Shelbyville, Ky. We settled on Valor. He is a mutt, not worth shooting, snores, farts, typicaly thinks he is a 52 lbs lap dog that wouldn't harm a flea. He loves kids and will do his best to show off how rotten he has become.

Despite his disposition and manerisms, he has been like a second kid to me. He has been there with me through thick and thin and was a great confort when I lost my dad.

Valor has been sick the last two weeks. We thought he ate something that did not agree with him. We took him to the vet this past week and were shocked to find out that he has cancer. The cancer is inoperable and the vet's best guess is 3wks to 3mos. About the only thing we can do for him is steriods to keep him eating food for as long as he can.

As you would imagine, vets are expensive. I have no idea what it is going to cost to do the humaine thing and the additional medications he is going to need. I do know I will do everything I can to make his limited time he has left with us as comfortable as I reasonably can.

Here is the cue offered:
Schon R9
Butt 15.2 oz
shaft 1-4.2 oz 12.5mm

Butt rolls straight on my Diamond/ shafts have a tiny bit of taper roll. Ferrule has been shortened to around 3/4". The butt has a few dings, forearm is nice.

I would like to get 750.00 for obvious reasons. Trades + mostly money considered. Please PM with questions or offers. One shaft was sold seperately and the cue only has one shaft now.

And now 5 o'clock can't get here fast enough so I can get home and hug my mutt, Kira.

Sorry to hear the news. Good Luck with sale!

A little help

I'd like to help out with the medicine cost, PM me your Paypal address.

I lost one of my dogs to cancer this year. She fought hard and endured the cemo treatment for almost 6 months without any side effects. I still have her brother and we still walk 1 mile in the morning and 1 mile at night, just like the 3 of us did for the past 11 years. I have 4 other rescue animals beside him in my house, and they are all treated like children.

My heart goes out to you.

R9

I met Tom (OP) a while back and we play once a month or more. You will not find a more honest person on AZ. I feel his pain right now and wish I could buy the cue to help him out, but after a house refinance and a new truck it is just not in the cards. I know he appreciates all the offers although he may not come outright and say it. The cue plays well as I played with it the day he got it and liked it. I believe a new owner will be very happy with the cue and I would be willing to do an escrow if need be, free of charge to potentially help out. The cue plays very solid. Let me know if I can be of service.

Thanks

I have not commented until now out of respect to others selling threads. I do not want to be in violation of the forum rules, I don't roll that way.

For all that have offered to PayPal money, the kind and selfless gestures have touched my heart and I thank all that have offered to help.

This is the situation as honestly as I can lay it out. The Schon R9 is just one of 4 cues I own. I have money in PayPal and the bank acct. to cover the costs of the vet bills right now and should have enough for what is down the road. We are not going to do Kemo or the Ultrasound because the outcome does not change and we want our pet to be as comfortable as we can make him and we want his quality of life to be as good as it can be for the time he has left with us. If the Kemo was a cure, I would not think twice about the cost. My family does not want to prolong his life if he will be sick 90% of the time.

With Christmas just around the corner and vet bills, selling the R9 will give a little insurance that I will be able to pull both off and not sweat the money. I also have my table scheduled to be recovered and leveled the 20th of this month. I could cancel this if need be and use that money to help the situation out.

Bottom line is this, I can't accept money without me giveing something back in return. That would not sit right with me. I will do what I have to do one way or the other. I had hopes that this cue would stand on it's own and sell without any further added information. I just wanted to point out the reason for the sale so soon after I bought it. This cue is now listed on Ebay with a few hours left to bid. Right now, the money is more important due to the circumstances and I may offer other cues f/s to help out with things.

Please post your Paypal info.

I don't have a pet at this time, but I love dogs and I feel your pain.Maybe if enough AZers donate a little $$ you can keep your cue. Please post the info I want to help,or if one of you other guys know it,let me know where to send my contribution. Thanks and Good luck to you and your family and Valor.

Great looking dog and cue too. I'm a dog person, down to two now with one on her last legs, so I do understand. If you change your mind about needing help other than selling your cues, pm me. God bless.

New price

One shaft was sold and the cue only has one now. I dropped the price to make the cue more attractive to a buyer.

Thanks Scott for buying the shaft!

I understand what you are going through..

It's tough to have a pet. Some people just don't understand that they become not only a part of your family, but a part of you. I personally went through the same thing this past March. My pup of 15 years was having so many medical issues due to his age. He had tumor growths in addition to his hip and elbow displacia problems that he just couldnt get up one mornin to even eat or go to the restroom, so I had to make the difficult choice to put the poor guy out of his misery:( I can only say that it's tough to see them go through any pain. It's like you said, you see them as your own child. I pray you and your family will get through such a sad time. Good luck with your sale my friend. I wish you all the best

this is my lil guy RIP Puppa
