Custom Cues Since 1986

I am making a new cue called the Giant Cue. It is 64 to 72 inches and working well on the big table, I mean the 5 by 10. The first one I made was for Earl Strickland but lately I have made one for Steve Moore who is my player representative and another player in Las Vegas named Joe. They are very powerful cue weighing in a 24 ounces or more. The weight was requested with a large diameter in the handle. I can make them lighter and thinner according to the player's preference. These new cues will fit in your existing case and come with 2 shafts. I am suggesting my SPTX or SPX (little stiffer) taper as these both have my 18 inch no taper.

Mike, I'm curious about the shafts. What type did you make for Earl? I watched it take one helluva beating several times. Are these maple shafts? Laminated? Conical taper? Anything you're willing to disclose about how you make those so resistant to damage?

It is an honest question - I'm fascinated by how tough they really are.

I remember reading a post from Stevie on Facebook a while back and him saying he really liked shooting with a 70" cue.

Glad to hear these are going to be available...my buddy (who is 6'9") was asking me about the "Earl Cue" after he left your shop a couple weeks ago...I just linked him to this post. Congrats on Stevie and you working together...It's good to see the hometown well represented.

They are maple shafts with my SPTX taper (same size for 18 inches) with Shaft Freeze. My Shaft Freeze is a permanent rock hard coating that keeps out moisture, heat cold and will take a few whacks, not that that I recommend beating up your shaft.

I think over the years, mike has put in his time with george cues with Bill schick and Mike roberts and Mike wheeler in the early 80's He invented the jump cue back then, and it never gained the popularity it should of.Bill Schick took him under his wing and tought him everything in his shop,mr schicks shop.He went on to invent the break jump cue with the phonolic ferrule.Which everyone copied before he got his patient. Hope I spelled those correct. Then had his stint with samsara cues, working with them in all aspects of construction to further refind the break jump cue.Now they have a samsara break jump tip. His special pro taper, spt, or first the strickland pro taper on his shafts along with his shaft freeze that works as well. Mike has conquered the cue industry,as well as a top notch player, cash player, and world champion back pocket nine ball champ. And on the mosconi cup and did not lose a match,if i am correct. If so correct me.The man has put his life in pool and mainly cues. Bill Schick told Mike gulyassy at the hopkins expo that he is very proud at mike and everything he has done. That carries ALOT of weight coming from hall of fame cue maker and legend. One of the top hall of famers in the world. Made Mr Gulyassys day and life. He's a great friend and always had the time to fix a tip or replace one,and clean a shaft better than any living human being out there. Thanks mike for anything you have done, and anything you continue to do.Your work does not go over looked.I hope they vote you into the cue makers hall of fame. Many years buddy, and i hope to see the day it happens. So does Bill Schick your mentor. Your friend Rich aka the skunk. And by the way mike, you make one hell of a cue...

I am also sponsored by mike and I'm about to order a 70 inch
But with ivory joint butt caps 5 inch solid ivory center section
With like straight six up and down of 10 1/2 inch ivory points long story
Short a monster star burst cue ha all the wood will be super rare
Burls cause I'm also a high end collector mike built me his fanciest cue
To date as my player its a ivory handle cue with 16 ivory points madrone
Burl and the long point in nose are. 10 inchs its unreal and for his first ivory
Handle we had a bet he could not keep it under 21 needless
To say he won that bet it weighs 19.8 with a 12.5 inch 3 section ivory handle
And then ring work in it I designed every aspect of it every point has a
Celtic cross of abalone in it all points have spears of ivory with abalone
Inlaid into it with abalone fountain under them and the cue is flaw less
Mike priced it a $24,000 I had a private collector offer me. $14,000 at southern classic in tunica were I played in the pro am 9- ball event and got
Food poisoning and had to leave early was on a winning streak I love playin for mike great cue and I stand behind his cues fully and in all the time having him build monsters for my collection I use to play for areil Carmeli for. 2 yrs till mike and I hit it off so if u thinking of getting any type cue take it from me I've tried almost every high end custom cue out there I've had. 93 high end all with ivory joint and butt caps except for a few cogs and mike are the best. And he's great to work with I'm proud to say he my sponsor. Dusty The Cueman Seale
