someone had asked for MICROSCOPIC BILLIARD BALL PHOTO'S - 01-26-2013, 12:06 AM

these are 3 photo's of a billiard ball's surface under microscope.

that shiny, smooth, polished, perfect surface is now seen under a lab super microscope and here it is.

i apologize for not having the actual magnification multiples (the mags were huge).

The Earth is actually smoother than a billiard ball. Google it.

Well, if this is high magnification, it looks smoother than I would have thought.

Recent evidence suggests that billiard balls may once have been suitable for supporting life.

It sure puts ball throw & friction into perspective.

Yes.

Sometimes when I'm asking myself "How come it does that?" and I'm thinking throw is involved; I do a thought experiment wherein I imagine the cloth and the balls are all coated in mini velcro.

This helps me to visualize the friction effects more vividly.

Looey got banned already. I guess now you can't sell the same cue to multiple people at the same time.
