What is up with the "random question"?

Ok so this will be my first post. I am a relative newbie to pool(little over a year playing) and I love this site so I decided to make an account. What I want to know is, what the hell is up with the "random question" for creating an account or for searching the forums? I got lucky figuring out the question to allow me to create an account but what the hell was I supposed to do if I didn't know the answer and could not find it? Do they expect super knowledgable pool veterans ONLY on this site? I mean come on.. So, am i missing something here? Are the answers to these questions listed on the site somewhere? Or is there some kind of setting where I can prove that I'm not a robot in some other way? Any insight would be appreciated. Oh and by the way I would love to do a search on the forums but i don't know the answer to the question....

It's to stop Bots from making accounts and spamming the forums with advertisements for Viagra.

If you don't know the answer, just google it.

Ya that's what I did, but i feel like something along the lines of, "what are the 1st 4th and 6th letters in this question? Would be better.

Maybe they want you to learn the name of the only player to win 5 US Open? Helps follow things on here if you know a bit of the history of the sport.:)

I used google. Google is a 'search engine' that allows you to scour the 'internet' for answers to questions you may have.

You could also probably e-mail the webmaster and explain the situation.

Lol, yes Google does help, I'm here arent I? I just feel like in principle, the question allowing someone to creat an account should not be trivia related. It should be something that a pool novice such as myself could answer without digging around for an answer. A simple logic question would suffice.
