What is the most powerful shot?

I just wanna know... What's the best technique out there which can apply the most powerful, most devastating stroke to the cue ball? Precision really doesn't matter. The only features I'm looking for are highest possible power with little chances of missing the CB while shooting. I can't wait to use a weapon like that, it could finally get me back in my winning streak

P.S. I'm looking for a reliable shot, not some equivalent to Happy Gilmore golf strike which breaks golf clubs in real life

Pool is a game of precision. Adding power at the expense of precision is a good techique of giving the table to the opponent.

I don't know what the answer is, but watch what Scott Frost can do with the cue ball while pocketing balls too. It is pretty strong!

Another that comes to mind is Mike Massey. Power stroke!!

It always matters.

You have a odd view of what makes a good player.

right with ya Mitch!!!

relating it to golf (which I have a tendency of doing)...it's the guy who swings as hard as he can regardless if the shot is needed. OOOOH, he hit that thing 365 yards dead left into the trees. Nice POWER fella....what was your score on that hole again?? oh, an 11; that's right.

I am always way more envious of the guys who get out with superb cueball control, than the guys who obliterate the rack, send the cueball God knows where, or hit 2 length of the table draw strokes when a little stun shot woulda done the job.....

"Pool is a game of brains, not brawn".
-Some guy who actually played pool and had never heard of a RAM shot

Corey pulls off that ridiculous stroke shot on the 4 ball (posted above), but dogs a ball and loses that game, btw....

Hold the cue like a baseball bat with hands at the shaft end, then sweep all the balls off the table. Then throw the cue through a window. That's powerful, man.

You know you have developed a powerful stroke if you can twirl your cue like an airplane propeller, stop it real quick and with only 1 practice stroke, execute a jump shot across 3 tables and pocket a ball. Don't do this near windows.

Here's an easy trick to get about 25% more speed on a stroke.
Grip the cue butt about 1-1/2 hands back from your normal shooting position and a 12-14" bridge.

In my mind there is a lot of difference between power and stroke. Notice players that knock the crap out of the cue when trying to draw the ball, only to have the ball come back a short distance? It's a lot more about the stroke you put on the cue ball than the power you put behind the shot in my view. You put a good stroke on the ball, and very seldom will you have to put a lot of power behind it to get the cue ball where you need it. If you are sacrificing accuracy for power, get ready to rack a lot if you are playing someone that can play pretty sporty.

What impresses me a lot more than power shots, is someone that hits the ball easy, spins it around the table so every shot is practially a hanger.

This thread should be ... Who? has the most powerfull stroke..? Chris Melling...check him out in the last Mosconi cup, he played some incredible shots.

Why would anybody want to learn how to hit the cue ball ...hard? This would be helpful for the break shot...but for regular play?

Adding power to your game will diminish your odds of winning almost point for point...for example...add 20% power to avg shot...you've probably lowered your odds of winning by 20% !!!

Focus on how to improve accuracy and stroke...not power.

The answer to your question, if u still want to king-kong every shot, is...
Wrist action...snap...search for "break" threads describing this action.
If nothing else, you'll become a better breaker

There are "other patterns" having power may make a natural shot out of a 4 rail cueball track... It's always nice to have it in the bag... Google Earl and stroke shots.... When you can hit those shots with accuracy and control you will find the answer.....

Haha I'm not planning to use power shots every time xD But I want to learn maximum power, mostly for breaking and here and there in regular game. But in situations like that, I don't really need a lot of accuracy, and I'm willing to sacrifice it for extra power. It doesn't really matter where the CB will stop, or where any other ball will end up. Is there some kind of guide or tutorial about hitting the CB as hard as possible, without thinking about any positioning and/or consequences?
