cue on ebay?

Something looks off on that cue, it looks very new, except for the wrap which looks like it's been used for many years. Joint is shiny and not really scratched, shaft looks clean, finish looks clean and shiny not worn at all. If it was an older cue that was cleaned up and refinished, why would the wrap be left untouched?

I was thinking the same

Easy to explain the wrap - was in a pool hall or bar or basement for years where stank air sat on the wrap nonstop

That white ring looks concerning, I see that same crappy ring on junky Asian cues all the time.

Wrap looks cleaner at the ends, refinished and didn't do the wrap?

You guys probably forgot more than I'll ever know re identifying cues but, one thing I noticed, how many Asian cues are made with that type of pilot?

I have always thought of that type of pilot as coming from a custom maker.

titlist vaneers? but not a conversion. never seen that many birds eyes in an old titlist. so a custom? I understand not messing with the wrap. changing that would take all its character away

for those who are curious

I was the winner of this auction and cue showed up last week. Yes I know I'm gambling on this cue but found it very interesting. Anyway it is straight, titlist color veneers but not a titlist, veneers are thinner and cut better then the titlists I have. The bushka ring and ferrule appear to be ivory. Looks to be original cortland irish linen well pressed. Shaft has a very old school style taper fat and almost conical and the wood looks very seasoned with tight straight growth rings. Has a very nice firm hit no wiggle shoots so good I plan on keeping it. Bill please let me know how we can find out if it's one of yours. If anyone can help me identify it it would be appreciated
