This is so cool. It was taken by PoolBilliards.co. This is the beginning of Team India vs. Team Canada at the 2013 World Cup.

Man, what an entrance. It's showtime ----> HERE

I love this! This is *exactly* what pool needs: PERSONALITY!

Thank you, PoolBilliards.co. Thank you, Matchroom Sport, for a GREAT, GREAT, GREAT event. Man, oh, man, wish we had some like this here. Wow!

Man, the Brits know how to put on a show.

Check out Darren Appleton givnig his team mate Karl Boyes a peck on the cheek. This is so cute!

American pool needs to broadcast these personalities like Matchroom Sport does.

I love this tournament. Best one I've seen in a long, long time. And I'm not even there. :p

Man, Amar sure has grown up. This is when I first met him in 2002 at the U.S Open 9-Ball. He was there with his cousin Tony Chohan. The two of them were green as far as professional competition, but they were very seasoned when it came to action. ;)

Amar took a break from pool and was playing poker and golf for a while. He called Keith a year or two ago, and I got a chance to talk to him. He said he wanted to get back into pool, that he was really, really serious about it. He wanted to hit balls every day and get in stroke so he could turn pro.

Boy, look at him today. Looks like he's reached his goal. Amar Kang is shooting in the World Cup of Pool. This kid has got spunk and follow-through.

Jen,

That was stylish. I think it would have been even better had they played with the coats on, but I understand.

This is sort of what CJ has been talking about to maybe revive the game.

I just would not want to see it get too ridiculous.

I agree the event looks great, in video & in pics.

Do you know when Shane & Johnny play next?

Best,
Rick

I am not sure when Shane and Johnny are up next. I'm on my work computer with limited access to some websites.

I love seeing the country spirit like this with India, the audience members jamming the Indian beat while Amar and Raj walk out. It was simply brilliant!

Most of the outside world thinks of Americans as cowboys, so I guess Johnny and Shane would have to ride into the ring on horseback wearing cowboy hats and western attire. :D

How about wearing Revolution War uniforms with the flag bearer, drummer, & piccolo player following them in to foster Freedom around the World.

I don't know about that one. :embarrassed2: Being that Americans are playing on British soil at York Hall, it might be kind of like rubbing salt in the wound. :D

Hey, we've been allies for Freedom's sake for more than 200 years including WWII when they needed us the most.

If they can't handle that graciously then throw them over board with the tea.

Johnny said they have today off and play again tomorrow. Not sure what time and I think they play Japan. It sure has been a great tournament so far.

It reminded me of the entrance of Apollo Creed in Rocky 4 and i was hoping that Alex & John would knock them into the graveyard, but alas Canada played pretty awfully and still only lost 7-6.

Now that is a frickin entrance. Pool needs more drumlines ! :)

I agree. I can't wait to watch them play again, mainly just to see them walk out into the pit. :grin-square:

The Olympic Games have each country come out at the beginning ceremony wearing their country's colors, carrying the flag. Pool could take a cue from this [pun intended]. I think this is *exactly* whath is missing today on TV.

I can just imagine the thrill Amar must have experienced walking out to the cheers and beat of those drums. What a great experience for him and for the audience. :)
