Lightbulb "I Will Not Comply" - Who Is With Me? - 10-02-2013, 05:43 PM

I submit this without comment. J

September 30, 2013

I Will Not Comply

By Matthew May

Like most members of the Congress that passed it and, undoubtedly, the president of the United States who signed it, I have not read the entirety of the ill-named Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Yet there is one aspect concerning that legislation of which I am certain: I will not comply.

I will not comply because I am a free citizen of the United States, not a subject of its government. I consider non-compliance with this monstrosity and the tens of thousands of pages of regulations that are to be enforced by an unelected bureaucracy, and that have left a gigantic carbon footprint on our environment and the United States Constitution, a duty.

Non-compliance is my executive order, and that order reads in part that I do not recognize any government's claim on my action or inaction in the marketplace, nor upon any personal information I am unwilling to divulge.

I will not submit to a cabal who read George Orwell's 1984 not as a terrifying warning, but as an instruction manual. Nor will I submit to the dictates of those who attempt to trample the right of free speech of others in the halls of government who are warning us about the looming tyranny. I refer to those sons of liberty who, as Camus wrote, "are not all legitimate or to be admired. Those who applaud it only when it justifies their privileges and shout nothing but censorship when it threatens them are not on our side."

If (when) the IRS or HHS or any other such entity attempts to extort a tax or fee of any kind for not participating in mandated commerce, they will be met with resistance. I will not pay any such tax or fee.

I live in Massachusetts, where, once upon a time, a spirit of resistance and independence animated much of the citizenry. But many here have devolved from the shot heard round the world to sheltering in place. Not I -- nor many of my fellow Bay Staters, who are outnumbered but undaunted.

Refusing to comply with the dictates of an illegitimate law that is selectively enforced, and from which the privileged few are exempted, is not, in the annals of American history, brave or difficult.
Those who refuse to comply are not barefoot in the snows of Valley Forge, crying out in agony at Gettysburg, or rushing the cockpit of Flight 93. While there will be consequences to civil disobedience in defiance of oppression, any difficulties can be and will be overcome.

We are, however, drawing a line that the forces of repression, socialism, and tyranny must not cross. Some might even color the line red. Yet unlike a certain other, this red line is immovable. I yield nothing on the plane of freedom. I will not take any small step that is, in actuality, one giant leap backward to the darkness we thought we had vanquished.

Who is with me?

Matthew May welcomes comments at may.matthew.t@gmail.com.

The only way to not comply is not file nor pay any Income Taxes. I think there are a few in prison that can tell us how that went.

Question to the Don Johnson, the most successful casino gambler of all time:

"When you're up 5-6 million dollars in a casino, how do you know when to stop?"

Don: "When they're out of chips."

......BUT. People can get away with this for several years and not be imprisoned for it.
Also, this is not a "serious" crime so you should be released from prison early because of over population.

how will this work?
when I fill out my tax forms, there will be a new box to check which says "I certify I have a qualified health insurance plan"...If I check this box then I am NOT charged.

If I dont check this box, I am directed to another sheet, where I have to compute my new tax liability and add that to my tax return?

Does the IRS already know who has insurance? do the insurance companies have to give the IRS the SS #'s of everyone they insure?

You do know that your SSN is key to everything the gubmint tracks on us, right? If what you say doesn't jive with their records of you making ACA payments, you will most likely be flagged. Also, when you sign your Income taxes you are signing that it is truthful to the best of your knowledge so if you lie on that form, it can be classified as some degree of perjory, tax evasion, and a host of other charges, I like my freedom too much to lie on that form. I would rather fail to file for a few years than lie on that form. I knew someone that never filed an income tax return and he was 30 yrs old. I am sure it sucked when they finally caught up with him, but for 12 yrs that he worked after high school, that never happened. Illegal aliens fail to file every year. Ckaim 100 dependents pay no taxes out of your checks and party hard. Not giving this as any kind of advice,,, just saying it is what some people do. I don't respect them for it.. but hey... some people probably didn't respect the guys tossing tea into Boston harbor centuries ago either.

Why go half way?

If this guy is really going to take a stand then he should refuse to get a drivers license and insurance too.

What if this isn't about "one" guy? What if millions refuse to comply?

Will they jail or shoot them all?

What if it really grew legs?

What if the government was forced to respect the wishes of the citizens who elected them?

Hey, you just may be onto something there. Millions of illegals do it every day. and get away with it.In fact they have no problems delivering babies in the hospital maternity wards and skipping on the bill. Sounds reasonable to me.

If nothing drastically changes, I predict by April 15, 2007 there will be a Tax revolt by younger "liberal" voters over this stupid law when they are faced with losing 2.5% of their gross income, or paying outrageous premiums for insurance they will not likely use and don't want added on top of paying off college loan debt,.

2016 elections very well may be a bumpy ride for Dems. I expect them to promise that if they are re-elected they will drop the 2.5% penalty and reward people who sign up with a sign up tax credit. Remeber the millions in free tax credit money to first time buyers of a home??? Apply that liberally to 2016 first time sign-ups to win an election. Just another carrot and stick routine all the way. (Shhhhtick it to the conservatives and then blame them for the crisises they create.)

No, I didn't.

But ObamaCare was not voted upon by the citizens, it was always an extremely unpopular piece of socialist legislation which was written by and for the medical and pharmaceutical industries and rammed down the throats of the citizens by their bought-and-paid-for, corrupt, political parasite pawns regardless of the wishes of the citizen.

If it is such a wonderful plan, why not just make it voluntary and allow those who don't want it opt out?

The only thing keeping obama from completely becoming Stalin and Mao is an armed citizenry who are used to being free people.
If he had his druthers, he'd just shoot people like you and me- because we refuse to consider ourselves as property of the government, and let the willing slaves, like W.D. (aka, Pavlov's Dog), wait in line for hours for their daily crumbs- given to them by their masters from the Central Planning Committee (aka congress).

I dont remember Mr Obama hiding the fact that he was in favor of this law when he was running for re-election. That didn't stop him from getting the majority of the votes cast......the people spoke. The Supreme court spoke.
If it was such a travesty then, why when the opportunity arose in 2008 to boot him and the Dem's out of power, they actually gained more power?

Actually he lost power. Obamacare was passed by House and Senate both of which were controlled by Dems at the time. The house turned back over to the Republicans in yhe last election and many independents like myself helped because of Obamacare. Today's polls show a majority of those polled now do not want it since we have since found out what is in it beyond the fog of controversy. Only stupid people who can't read or pass comprehension 101 could possibly want this monstrosity. Pelosi and those that listen or believe in her are morons. If Obama retained both houses, we would now have a deficit and passed a budget about 50% higher than it currently is. 17 trillion would be peanuts to what it would be by 2016 when he left the country competely bankrupt.

Also, FWIW, this travesty won't last much past the 2014 election. That election is going to make 2010 look like a picnic and it’ll be a reaction to this travesty.
He, and his moron supporters, keep talking about 2012 being a referendum on obama-care. That fool didn't run on obama-care! He ran on class envy- against a wealthy candidate that was even more of a RINO-tool than McCain was.
Class warfare is the oldest play in the book for the far Left, and it works exceedingly well on a citizenry as dumbed down as ours has become.
Look at the fools in the union movement that voted for him simply because their "leaders" (who are actually just politicians who’ve become rich exploiting their member’s dues) told them to. Most of those guys live their lives conservatively, but vote.in lock-step, for politicians who think the LGBT "philosophy" should be taught to elementary kids and that 5 year old should be punished for playing with toy guns.
He won’t be able to blame the fall-out from sky high premiums, people not being able to see a doctor for months, and elderly folks dying due to these fools “bending the cost curve” on ANYONE but himself (he’ll rue the day he allowed it to be called obama-care) despite him trying to do so (like he’s done with the economy after 5 years in office).
There are still enough Americans- who aren’t so stupid as to crave a bigger and more intrusive government, to deal with obama-care, but it’s not going to happen without getting rid of a bunch of RINO’s and Marxist congress-critters. Thankfully, 2014 will take care to that…
