The Ebony cue with the leather wrap is neat, quite different from most of stuff Viking used to make. Thanks for sharing.

That was Viking's top of the line cue about 25 years ago.
If you look close you will notice the seamless plastic veneers on both of the pointed cues.
 
What an interesting era for pool cues were the 60's and 70's. I have a few older vikings that I enjoy very much. Some of my favorites are the two with Palmer forearms , the ones with Burton Spain forearms and believe it or not, one with an Adam forearm.

Back then you didn't just order a Hightower lathe and video along with a bunch of seasoned wood, and start cranking out cues. (I know it's not quite that simple,, but then again,,, it sort of is.)

Gordon Hart was a real asset to the tradition of American ingenuity and struggle. I'm glad to see some appreciation of his efforts. He did not get the Balabushka status, but he has left his mark in cue making history for sure.
