The Snooker Shootout
See snooker players shooting fast :D
This shot clock would challenge most pool players.

Times are not the same as UK times - 6 hrs difference between times listed and EST.

The Rules
Every frame lasts 10 minutes.

There is a shot clock.

For the first 5 minutes of the match, players have 15 seconds per shot, but for the last 5 minutes this is reduced to 10 seconds.

Failure to ensure that the cue ball hits the object ball within the time allowed results in a 5 point penalty.

Players must hit a cushion or pot a ball with every shot.

All fouls result in ball in hand.

Players ‘lag’ for who breaks off.

In an event of a tie the blue ball shoot-out determines the winner.
The blue ball is placed on its spot and the player can place the cue ball anywhere within the D before attempting to pot the blue.

Is that from the time the balls stop rolling until the next shot?

In pool, no problem. In snooker, it takes me 10 seconds just to walk around the table to get to the next shot.

You know what I would love in pool? A ten-second rack clock. Take more than ten seconds and the break passes to your opponent.

Hooray!

Sure, I could shoot with a 10-second shot clock....without effecting my game at all.

Miss the shot with 30 seconds or miss the shot with 10 seconds; what's the difference?

About 20 seconds.

+1, it wouldn't slow me down a bit. It takes way less than ten seconds to miss! -Josh
