I am running a youth program for kids 7 to 14 at the Church of the Intercession, 550 West 155th Street, NY, NY. 10032 (care of Bill Rhodin). I go there Saturday mornings from noon to about 1:30 to run clinics, play with the kids, and help out with their pool game.

We need a new table (from a bar box to a 9 footer), a ball set, some cues, a rack, and chalk. The table they have does not have a slate bed, is not level, and easily moved around. As they are kids, the equipment takes a bit of a beating, so commercial products would work best.

I see this as a great opportunity to help some deserving young people and grow our sport. If you can help in any way, it would be greatly appreciated.

Check craigslist. A lot of people have tables they have for sale but actually don't want at all. I have a Gold Crown that was given to me because they were selling the house and the new owners wanted the table out of there. Rather then pay to have it moved and stored it was cheaper to just give it away. You could also do a fundraiser. to get the money together. I would not be surprised if you could not get someone to set it up for you for free.
 
Equipment needed

I have pro-8 AMF very nice table in good condition. Also balls, sticks, rack etc. would be my pleasure to help the kids out. Can you post contact information?
 
I second craigslist, I got an 8 foot Olhausen slate pool table for free, just cost me the truck rental to get it to my house. Many people price the tables at close to 2x their actual value, unless they add in moving and setup in with the price.

I am probably going to get a table for a youth center my kids started going to at one point, they have a small toy table there now that is absolutely horrible. I can't bear to watch anyone play on it.
