2014 BU Summer School Boot Camp

I am very happy to announce that the 2nd annual Billiard University (BU) Summer School Boot Camp will be held July 4-6, 2014 in beautiful Denver, Colorado at Felt Billiards (home of the recent Nick Varner Classic).

The instructors this year are Samm Diep (BU Senior Instructor and past Amateur National Champion), Randy Russell (BU co-founder and Canadian instructor), and me (Dr. Dave). Samm is replacing Bob Jewett, who was one of the three instructors last year. Samm is joining us because she is very excited about the BU, has lots of instruction experience, and is associated with Felt Billiards. (She is also younger and prettier than Bob. :wink:)

I am confident we'll have a full class. We've had quite a few out-of-town people express interest already, and I'm sure we can recruit local players if necessary. Denver is a big pool town.

Sorry, but our only plans are to continue to offer the annual event in Denver into the foreseeable future.

If I ever retire from my "day job," that might change, but for now an annual event in my area is about all I'm willing to commit to.

Any chance of you visiting our wonderful state during a month that isn't very pleasant in Maryland?

You should head a little bit east...Big Dogs has plenty of Diamond tables for you to do this as well :thumbup:

Thank you for the suggestion, but the Denver event is the only one we plan to have.

Hopefully, you and/or other AZB'ers will be up for a nice trip to Colorado this summer.

I'm willing to listen to arguments to the contrary, but I doubt you could have picked a worse summer weekend.
 
Someplace in the midwest would also be good....maybe Saint Louis, MO or Springfield, MO...I'd attend!! :D

We did it July 4 weekend last year also, and it seemed to work well for the people who attended, but I can see how it might not work well for all people.

Maybe we'll try a different weekend next year.

Sorry, but we plan to do this event in Denver every year. We don't have plans to do events in other locations yet, but if it goes well for a few years, we might pursue that.
