1984 D16 McDermott w/custom inlays!

Stunning old McDermott w/16 custom MoP inlays (+$800. extra according to Blue Book).
Totally refinished by McDermott less then 2 years ago.
4 points w/blue, burnt orange and green veneers.
Same veneer pattern carries over into the butt.
Awesome ring work on this cue.
White w/green speck Irish linen wrap.
2 original 13mm shafts (test hit only).
19 oz. 3/8 10 Implex joint.
Not a nick, chip or scratch in this cue, other then being chalked and test hit this guy is MINT!
Estimated BB value with the extra shaft and added inlays over $1400.

Who did the inlays? The D-16 is my favorite production cue, the inlays don't really add any thing astetically to the cue though. But that's definately just my humble opinion. You've got some nice looking McDs.

All the work is/was done my McDermott. Sorry I should have stated that, along with the straightness. All the cues I have listed are straight as a arrow.
This is a remarkable looking cue with a kind of funny history.
In short:
Was bought and ordered new in the 80s for a local player, who had the cue stolen from him one evening while in the restroom. 2 years later the cue comes full circle and someone tried to sell it back to him for 3x what he paid for it originally. He passed on it and here it is today on AZ!:D

I agree with you though, the inlays while nice, are just a addition to a already beautiful cue. I just wish all the diamonds/stars were of the same design.:rolleyes:

Well back then flashy was in:) The C series used alot of these same inlays that are on your cue. It is a 1 of 1 though.
