Ok friends, here it is.

Please read this thoroughly before calling us as I don't want to answer questions that are on this page. At our price, it's the steal of the century. We've taken out all of the thinking about this for you. The price is so good it's doesn't require thinking about it. You either want it or you don't.

This should answer all your questions. It's a great buy for anyone wanting something to do, work with, start a business, have a hobby or just tinker. You can do basic tip, tenon and ferrule replacements as well as shaft refinishing, rewraps, etc. These are the most cost effective and money producing areas of being a cue technician. This is a great self contained unit that is easy to carry all the necessary tools and equipment one needs to do quality repairs. The cabinet is top-notch with two useful drawers that glide with precision.

This unit was purchased new from Mueller in August of 2013 (we have the invoice). That makes it less than a year old. Personally, I don't think it was ever used as it is that new looking. No grease, no glue, no droppings, no shavings, no anything here to distract from its new appearance. We purchased it as used equipment but it's new or as close to new as you can get without buying it new and paying the new price tag of $2,495. See below:
http://www.muellers.com/Porper-Mini-Q-Lathe,3776.html

Our price only $1695 (WOW!!) for local pick-up only please, in Daytona Beach area of Florida. You come to us. We do not deliver. If you want us to ship the thing, the price then becomes $1895 (still a bargain!) plus whatever the shipping cost is. These prices are firm. No haggling - well maybe as we want it sold! :D For complete clarification: if you pick it up bring $1695. If you can't pick it up and want it shipped, then you pay $1895 plus shipping to you. How much is the shipping? Figure under $200. If it's less you pay less and if it's more, you pay more but figuring $200 is a safe bet. If you don't have the money, don't call. If you have part of the money we will consider monthly installments of 1/3 down, 1/3 in 30 days and the balance 30 days from that.

You can reach us at 386-424-0300 or at our email address on our web site:
http://www.CueComponents.com

Includes everything you see and can't see:
the whole unit you see
Drill chuck with key
Lathe chuck with key
Face knife
Tip centering tool
Adjustable tip shaper tool
3 pins: 3/8-10, 5/16-14, 5/16-18
1 butt collet
8 shaft collets
X-Y tool post
2 live centers
1 Steady Rest
1 Tip touch
1 sanding block

And lastly, our policy:

We are Cue Components of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. We're a small family run business with a large inventory offering friendly and personal service. You're not a number but a name with us as we endeavor to service your cue building needs. Advice is only a phone call or email away.

We enjoy talking with many of you but we ask that you please
Read This Before You Call:

Some of this may sound ridiculous but it's not to us.

1) Gather your thoughts before you call so you know what you are going to say.
2) Lower the radio, stereo or whatever it is these days that produces loud musical sounds.
3) Finish the argument with your mom, parents, wife, inlaw, son or whomever it is that you have a disagreement with prior to calling.
4) Make certain you have a good cell connection. This is paramount! We don't want to play, "can you hear me now".
5) Don't call us from your car because you have nothing else to do or no one else to talk to.
6) Don't call when you've been drinking. We don't understand alco-phonics.
7) If you just burned a doobie, call us tomorrow as time is not in slow motion for us.
8) If you just hit the meth pipe, call tomorrow as we are not here today.
9) If you just downed some dilaudids, see #8.
10) If you are calling to ask if something is in stock, the answer is we stock everything we sell so there is no need to call.
11) If you cannot find it on our web site, 99.9% of the time we don't carry it and no we don't know where you can get it; try Google. We are not the information desk at the library.
12) If you cannot communicate your thoughts in a logical, orderly, conscious and semi-intelligent manner perhaps you would be better served by calling our competitors and be sure to tell them we referred you.
13) Please do not call us if you don't speak fairly good English. We do not speak German, Italian, Swedish, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese, any Eastern European language, Greek, Spanish, Portuguese or Alienese. We speak English, period. Please email us if your English is not very good. We find this to be best.
14) To our friends in California: contrary to popular belief (in California), the world does not revolve around California. To the contrary, it revolves around eastern times so please adjust the time of your calls to coincide with when we actually work. And no, we do not work at 10pm in the evening nor when you get home from the pool room at 5am. (you can't imagine!)
15) Try to use your God given brains, have some respect and consideration for us when phoning.

If the above sounds ridiculous to you, then come spend a week answering our phones! You'll have a revelation and fully understand the term, the 'dumbing down of America'.

I sent you a good solid offer. Via pm. And you didn't even respond. I have money ready to buy. So I'm definitely not a tire kicker. I think with the attitude you gave off with the way your post was written, completely turned people off from making you any offers or even posting on your thread. thinking you would be hard to deal with. But if you don't respond to offers. No one can even deal with you anyway. Just my opinion. Have a nice day.

The unit is withdrawn because of lowball offers and tire kicking. I just don't have the time to play 1,000 questions and shoot the breeze. We decided to put the unit on our web site and it will sell in 6 days or 6 months but it will sell to someone who will appreciate the fact that they can save over buying a new unit.

We got many offers and phone calls so it has nothing to do with my "attitude". In fact, some found it entertaining and know exactly what I am talking about and why it's written the way it's written. Perhaps some people can't figure it out.

Unfortunately, contrary to popular belief that anyone selling something on AZ is starving for money, we are not. The listing specifically stated that the price if we had to ship would be $1895 plus shipping of about $200 or approximately $2100 delivered (+-). That was quite clear. We also stated and I quote, "These prices are firm. No haggling - well maybe as we want it sold!".

Based on the above statement, we do not consider an offer of $1200 or even $1300 delivered as a serious offer. In fact, it's downright ridiculous and insulting as this is basically a new unit. That's why I didn't entertain nor even reply to your offer. It was a dead end. However, since you decided to make this issue public and let the whole world in on your lowball offer, we decided it would be best to set the record straight.

We believe an offer of say $1600 or even $1500 plus shipping as a serious, "good solid offer". Your offer of $1300 delivered was ridiculous, IMHO of course.

I would like to suggest that you contact Chris Hightower as he can accommodate you with one of his fine repair lathes in your price range. I highly recommend them. Have a look here:
Hightower Repair Lathes

Now hopefully, we can let this thread die as it's going nowhere.

Thank you for your time and have a wonderful week.

Yes let's please let this thread die. You obviously have no customer service because, contrary to your own belief. When you post something for sale for that kind of money good people are gonna ask questions. Also you can say all day long how nice looking something is but the fact is, it is a used lathe. And you are trying to get new price for used. So good luck with your overpriced porper lathe. Since you wanted to bring up price on public forum. Imho. My offer was on point and fair for a used lathe. Now you have a nice day. :)

at $1695 he is not trying to get new price

I bought a full splice ebony into tulipwood butt from him about a year ago. After about two weeks with no update or tracking information I emailed and asked for the tracking number and they didn't respond for about four days so I emailed them again and he got huffy in his email and said it would be shipped out tomorrow. If everything on your website is in stock why did it take 3 weeks for my order to ship? I was going to order another full splice that was the reverse (tulipwood into ebony) but after that experience I decided against it. It is clear from his comments in his threads he has no customer service skills. Dealing with people is paramount to your business if you can't handle it hire some who can or maybe find a new line of work where you don't have to deal with people.

It always impresses me when some one sends a Low Ball offer , then they get offended ???? Never could understand that . Jim

Joe

porper lathe

It always impresses me when someone comments on someone's else's deal they were trying to make like their opinion matters. (Jim) Lol. Again, I don't think 1300. Shipped for a used lathe was a low ball offer. And I'm not offended. It's just ridiculous that a person wouldn't respond with at least an F.U. or something. a response should of been given seller is in the customer service business and selling an item online. But anyway, I found another lathe joe that was priced right and sold quick accordingly. Have a nice day. :)

Don't need soup. Needed a lathe. And i found one priced right. And worth the money. Have moved on. :) Thanks. maybe heade your own advice. Lol.

I made a solid offer of $1650 shipped. No response. Must be another low ball offer.
And all I want is the cabinet. I'd install a Hightower in it and sell the rest.

You should call Creative Inventions up, and see if they will just sell you the box. You
never know. Give them a story about wrecking the one you have.
