WTB: Nice 3X6 Case

Hi all,

I'm looking for a nice 3X6 hard case.

I submitted an inquiry for a custom case 2 weeks ago, but haven't heard anything from them, so I'd like to see what's out there.

Must Haves:
-Black Leather (a little accent color may be OK)
-Not a Butterfly Case
-2 Pockets (one long and one short)
-Must be able to hold a 31.5" butt/shaft (30" butt + 1.5" joint cap) comfortably

I don't have a specific budget and I'm not brand loyal. I'm just looking for a nice case at a fair price. Please let me know what you have.

Also, If there are any case makers out there who have something in stock, or would like to build me a custom, I'd be open to that too. However, please know that I'd like to have something new by the end of the month.

You'd want to measure with joint caps attached for both butt/shaft to make sure your new case has enough clearance. If it's a 31" butt (assuming same length as shaft), the case might need to clear 33" at the end of the day.

I'm thinking your best bet will be custom. Hopefully someone has one they're willing to sell if you can't wait. GLWB.

I agree that custom would be the best way to go, but I really don't want to wait that long.

The majority of my butts and shafts are 30". Adding the joint caps would add about 1"-1.5", so the case would need to hold a butt/shaft that is about 31.5" long.

I do have one shaft that is 31" long. If it doesn't fit in the case with a normal sized joint cap attached, I'll just have a short, 0.25"-0.50" long, cap made for it. That way the total length won't be any longer than the rest of my pieces.


What's out there guys? I'm interested in Whitten, Volturi, JB (a Mason would be cool, but I'm open to other models), Swift, Yang, etc... Any nice, custom 3X6 (or 3X7) cases that are black, and don't have the traditional "Western" style tooling out there?

If the accents on that were white, instead of red, it would probably be on its way to me right now... What a gorgeous case! Unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of the red. That thing will make someone very happy, though.


Still looking guys... let's see what black 3X6s you've got. A Whitten Lite would be at the top of the list, followed closely by a Volturi or a JB Mason. Open to others, too!
