i was in need of a few maple veneers this weekend and my stock supply was gone. i decided to try and cut just a couple so i could get a cue glued together.

as many of you know i have a fullsplice jig i made, bolted on my 14 inch grizzly bandsaw. it moves on ball bearings and is very smooth cutting.

after i got the jig set square, i took a piece of maple and got it square using my planer, then started cutting maple, i got it thinner and thinner until i got it down to under 1 mm thick.

i am very impressed with the grizzly band saw, it has the 3/8 blade that came on it and it has stock guides.

Good job bro !!! Should be a nice rich looking veneer . Better than ordering and paying shp. $$$ . keep up the good work ...

I once saw a guy at Grizzly in Springfield cutting thin veneers several inches tall off a half log with a tiny blade. My Grizzly saw has never been able to do that. I might could do it on a 2 x 2, but that would be about it. It looks like your jig is working great for more than just full splices.
