Money Sharing Agreements?

Wait! Let me try to give you the reason why its not possible because I'm sure that people think it is based from previous experience and/or stories.

You may all need to backtrack and read my previous posts about current status of pool here in the Philippines and my gambling match-up reports.

Basically, Efren's group is at odds with Dennis' group and Marlon is the lone wolf that leans more towards the Efren side of the fence but basically more neutral in all aspects except for tournament play against Dennis where there is a rivalry and no amount of money can overcome the ego. Marlon and Dennis respects the other's capability A LOT!

In the last 6 group, what defined the outcome were the early outcomes of the Filipino-Filipino matches. Look at the match outcomes in the order that they occured.

1. Marlon over Efren 8-7, both wanted to win for what the tour is going to reward them for their effort (Prize Money) No ego involved. Marlon did better with his 4 BNRs against Efren's 2BNRs.

2 Dennis over Souquet (8-7) one of the matches being closely watched by these 3 guys. 2 BNRs each. Dennis really wants that title! It coud've ended either way but Dennis won so that added pressure on Efren and Marlon now really needs to go "all in" against Dennis' obvious intent.

3. Dennis over Efren (8-4) Dennis had 4BNRs and Efren only had 1. Always a possibility for Efren because of his 8-Ball reputation but Dennis has been consistently beating him in money games plus friction between them and their handlers. Analyses=Dennis' is really on his own and want it all! ZERO SAVERS! Perry M., Dennis'#1 supporter and manager, wants all the cheese and bragging rights!!

4.Marlon over Dennis-(8-6) Marlon got the better of him today.PERIOD!

5. Hohmann over Dennis(8-5) Thorsten played his game and Dennis basically can't turn it on. So he sealed his fate of a 3rd place finish. Hohmann 4BNRs and Dennis 0 BNRs! It wasn't time for Dennis to SHINE!

6. Dennis-Stalev(8-5)- We snapped him off in the after-hours in Cardiff so what makes you think that Evgeny was improving and Dennis just stood still? I concur though that he's a very nice guy. Congratulations Evgeny.

7. Marlon relaxes against Thorsten(1-8) thus sealing Dennis' fate. Better chances when not playing against another Filipino and that's a known fact! Even Efren sez so. This here verifies that there is NO COMMUNITY POT to fatten and divy-up later or the score wouldn't be so lop-sided. Had there been a Community pot then having an all-Filipino finals will insure the maximum pot size to divy-up. As it is, there's a chance for Thorsten to grab the 350k.

Congratulations Dennis, my kumpadre my friend, you did extremely well but it wasn't meant to be. Congratulations to the whole Philippine contingent, you bring pride to your country and people! Good Luck to Marlon, you really are an exception to the rule!

Like I said, we're in transition! Marlon to WIN! Anybody wants to bet pool cue to pool cue? US$850 worth?

Looks like nfty9er is a mean drunk ;)

You don't really think the integrity of pool and the IPT is hanging on such a thin thread that internet forum discussions may bring it to its knees? lol

I don't think any of us are that important, mate. I'm telling the bar tender to cut you off :)

Thanks for your explanations Bandido as usual allways well written and thought out.Now it is time for me to fullfill my agreement and delete my other threads.I don't allways post with intelligence and sometimes hit that submit button without thinking, but a deal is a deal.

You spoke from previous experience and knowledge and you let people know your thoughts. They were valid and so were nfty9ers. Appropriateness or not of your post is an opinion on an individual basis. And since I have knowledge of how the pool culture here is, I feel that I should at least share how I read what has happened in the last round.

Bandido....
Excluding one pocket, can you rank how you feel the top 5-7 Filipinos play right now.

This is an interesting bet. I will nominate myself to be the middle man. You both can send the cues to me for "Safe Keeping". ;)

Hi Shane,
It's 2:15am here, I knew there was a reason why I was suddenly awaken and had an urge to check AzB. OK, My wager is a 59" V-splced 7-pointer similar to the MTadd777 with 2 shafts and joint protectors. I need a month or less to complete the sealing and clear-coating. Send me your specs if you win. What have you?

I can tell you from first hand knowledge, there is NO business going on in the hohmann/manalo finals this evening.

as to what bandido said, i agree. I have spoken with alot of players and it seems that dennis is not the only lone wolf out there. The philipinos for years have whacked up pots and even have fellow "team" members get a free pass into deeper tourney rounds. My understanding, is that alex is also a lone wolf. The efren/parica squads feel alex is an outsider who has all but abandoned his homeland, and that to this day they are nothing more than cordial. I think they feel this young whipersnapper has forgotten where he comes from and is way too arrogant for their tastes. Not enough respect kicked up to the elders kind of thing. and I also beilieve that alex doesnt really care what they think, so the feelings are very much mutual.

As i posted yesterday, their is a healthy history of matches played between thorsten and manalo. essentially thorsten has owned him with the exception of the 2 losses in the koth. Thorsten is the man to beat, and manalo knows it.

go thorsten!!!!

Hello Watchez,
Kinda hard to rank these guys right now as I've said we're in transition. The top guns right now who can upset the other in any given time are: Efren, Django, Dennis, Marlon, Alex, Ronnie and LeeVan.

This is very interesting information.

I went to the IPT Qualifier in Boston, and I saw Sambajon, Luat, Lining, Gallego, and Kiamco all hang out together (I got a couple nice pics with all them together ;)). Do these Filipino "second stringers" get along like they seemed to, and do any of them side more towards the Efren side or the Dennis side?

And I wouldn't be surprised to find out what NYC cue dude said about Alex P. is true.

Very educational stuff.

Well, if it was me ...

after perusing your site on this interesting bet, I would pick the
Schon CX-7 ... lol It would be neat to see pics of both cues put up
for the bet. I have been interested in seeing some of Edwin's cues
anyway.

nevermind, its alcano.

when the phillipinos play each other at home how much do the bet in us$. will friends play each other in cheap sets, if so how much? do they play races or ahead set or by the game, what kind of set do they usually play and what is the average bet?

Normal wager is $750-1k per set although Dennis versus Efren, Django or Alex start at $1k.
And yes they do play cheap sets. Efren even played $100 sets against Vincent Facquet(sp) a French IPTer. They play everybody else here cheap sets, they just love the game and variety of opponents.
Efren and Django don't play against each other but take on all comers. The rest play against one another but they're usually staked except for cheap sets. On cheap sets, they make more on the per game side bets. Too bad that the IPT isn't shown live here, the action poolhalls and some sports bars will be like cockpits. Loud during the matches and very loud in between games from all the bet calling.
