Southwest 9 point Cue

I'm putting this cue up for sale, however I really don't know the value for a 9 point S.W. since I see so few of them around. Along with everyone else, I don't care for posts that don't declare an asking price, however I'm really stumped as to what this cue is worth. With that I will entertain offers in excess of $2,300. No offers over that...then the price goes down. : )

Excellent condition. Dead straight with both shafts. Each shaft is 13.25mm. Ringwork in all 5 positions. Number 343-98. Unusual configuration of Gongalo Alves low points, Ebony high points, w/ birdseye points "recut" into the ebony points. I'm unaware of any S.W. out there that has 3 different types of woods in a "9-pointer". Brown smooth leather wrap. I recently re-aquired this cue from someone who could not afford to let it sit in his closet. The weight is approx. 19.25 oz.

Regards,

Doug

Never heard of such a thing, I hope you get what you want for it as it's obviously hard to find!! Free bump!!

being that its a 6 pointer and the 3 high points have a point recut inside them alot of people consider those extra points.. which i believe they still should be considered the same as the high point.. its just that they have alittle more work then a plain point.. i dont see how people just decided to say that they are points on their own.. but i guess thats how people are saying it anymore..

SW offers what they call 9 point cues. It is always 3 high, 3 low and 3 recut into the high points. Everyone that has one thinks they are special but so does everyone that has a SW think that their cue is special and they all demand a high price.

I think what makes the cue special is the leather wrap.

$2300 is a darn good price and should sell fast, but I think the market is a little slow now because it is summer time. A good time to beat the rush and get a good deal.

I'm not disagreeing.... when it comes to S.W., they are always referred to as 9 pointers. I've got a friend that has a "4 point" cue made by another cuemaker with 4....count them 4.... recuts into them. I can't bring myself to call it a 20 point cue. : )

I'll tell you something though, I've owned several S.W.'s and I've never seen such razor sharp points as this one....it must be the maple recut into the ebony which adds to the "sharp" look.

Doug

Sweet

I usually have little to say about SW cues. They all look the same to me. But that is a exceptional cue. That is a stunning cue sir!
Good luck!

Thought I'd add a photo that showed the points better. I'm having fun figuring out how to use this photo editor...

Yoz~

I just played with this cue 30 minutes ago!! I sold it to a good friend of mine and gee I am regreted.

I received several PM's on this cue. A few of you who are asking about trades. I'm really trying to unload my collection, such as it is, and am really interested in cash at this time. Of course several individuals have made made Mottey, White, and DPK trade offers that are hard to refuse....: ) Some others are attempting to come up with cash. I've had two offers at $2,300....and will hold the cue for a few more days to let things fall into place.

Some other items that I might have failed to mention: The cue is perfectly straight together and apart. I would rate the condition 95% and I'm picky. The cue weights in at approx. 19.25 oz. (rare for SW...they are usually heavier). Anyone who buys this cue and is dissapointed will get their money back, less shipping.

All for now, I'll respond to PM's...

I don't think I have ever seen a South West like the one you have, it is one on the prettiest South West cues I have ever seen. I hope you do well with the sale. For $ 2,300.00 the buyer is getting a real good deal.
