I have a question, Stan. I always knew that a 30 thickened and a 15 thinned resulted in the same shot line. I was also under the impression that a 45 thickened was equal to a 30 thinned and similarly a thick 60 equaled a thinned 45. From watching your last video about pivot directions it appears that I have been in error for the 45's and 60's. Can you confirm that what I have just written is correct? Are there any further comments that you might make to help me understand my uncertainty? Thanks in advance, and thanks for pushing forward a system that has helped me improve my ball pocketing, but has also improved my mechanics because it takes doubt over the shot line out of the equation and I can simply try and produce a straight stroke. For me, speed and better position hopefully will come next. Thanks, -Chuck
Stan, thank you so much for this clarification. Just in the last 2-3 days I've found the 45 from the outside to be incredibly powerful, especially for long, near middle of the table, back cuts. Many players call these shots 'testers' but I've been calling them impossible.
I want to throw out a random idea. I was hitting balls last night and I came to a very thin cut, maybe somewhere in the 80 degree range. I remember from The Final Chapter DVD that somewhere you said, that after using CTE-ProOne for so long, you don't see contact points anymore, you just see centers and edges. Well, I have moments when that true for me to the point where I can't even tell when I've made a visual sweep, or not. Moments like those, I stand up and re-address. But back to this thin cut. When I got down on the shot (cut to the left), I lined up left edge of cue ball to right edge of the object ball and then pivoted from the outside. It made the shot comfortably. Maybe there's a 90* visual, too.
Once again, thanks for clearing up my uncertainty from my prior post.
