Just received these in today but the Malaysian Black Wood and Snakewood is by far my favorite. The 8 Point Predator blank is actually a very cool cue as well. It was a very old blank that Eric fancied and held it back for a rainy day. Im generally not a fan of Buckhorn but its very light and not as figured as normal on the Purple Heart cue.

1) Purple Heart, Birds Eye Maple, and Buckhorn Joint/Butt

2) 8 Point Predator Blank finished with Blood Wood butt sleeve

3) 8 Point Snakewood recuts/joint, Malaysian Blackwood Points/Handle, Birds Eye Maple

Hi,

I Love all of these cues, especially Eric's Full Splice geometry.:clapping:

Rick

Hey Rick, just exactly which of these cues shows "Eric's full splice geometry"?

Could you be talking about the center cue, which happens to be the only full splice cue in the lot?

Did you not notice that the second cue was built with a Predator blank? I mean it's only in the original poster's first direct comments.

I don't think that's a pred blank. Predators secondary points were rosewood, not maple. See here:

This looks more like the blanks Duc Lam sells. I don't know who makes them. Could be the same factory as preds

Spliced

I'd bet you're right.

I was just referring to what the original poster had written.

Either way, it's not a full splice built by Eric.

By the way. Have you ever noticed in blanks like these that even though all the black point tips are pretty even, the inner points quite often are not. The short point on the Predator blank in your picture appears that the black outer veneer is abnormally long?

Thanks!

I guess your right Royce, I missed that but I had heard Eric was doing his own FS Blanks of late. I thought that was one of them. Still a gorgeous cue IMO.

Will Wait, Til it happens

Terrific cues
Sugar Tree cues play great, I love Eric's taper

Eric answered it made more fundamental sense to build a new blank, which stands to reason. The one I have will wait for Eric to decide to convert another one. it will wait until I hear from Mr Crisp,,,,,,

The thing I like about these cues are that the woods do the talking, simplistic but unique designs that look stunning with no need for a bunch of ivory inlays. :)

That's correct. There were a bunch of these blanks that came available 7-8 yrs ago or so, then Duc began dealing them. I am of the understanding that these were rejects/old stock/discontinued from Predator. Been a very long time since I heard the story on them. I don't even recall exactly how I came into this blank. I got a few when they first became available & this one is the only one I could do anything with. They were either warped or points were so far off that I couldn't bring them together. This one was no cake walk. PIA to get the points even.

They became available when Falcon closed and moved to China. Preds
are made there now.
I had some too and only finished one for breaker.
Almost all warped and/or too skinny in the middle for me.

Ah yeah that's right! I remember something about that now. Same issue here, warpage.

That is what I remember about them also. I ended up with 3 or 4 of them. Same here, only one held up and was worthy of finishing and putting a name on.
