Here's a good example of why locking down the commenting in the sales thread not only kill the whole section completely but it's doesn't allow member to protect each other.

I'm sure a lot of people that were buying SW was suspicious of this thread...I contacted the buyer and he replied but when asked him to send me updated images...he stop communication. Look like a few buyers got caught in this mess.
I say open up the commenting in the for sales thread and just prevent the comment to bump up the listing.
