I woke up at 9:40 am only to see we have a Ronnie O'Sullivan withdrawel dilemna. These kind of things can cause arguements and really screw up what could really be a great pool.Aready one(Nostroke) has withdrawn and four others are going to be pissed because they picked O'Sullivan.

Unfortunaley I had nothing written up in the rules pertaining to last minute player withdrawels and by me waking up only 20 minutes before the deadline,it hardly gave anyone the chance to edit their lists and add another player. The next time I draw up the rules their will be a provision for last minute dropouts added to the rules and the replacement player will be added in as a substitute for sure.I think it's only fair.

In summary:

This thing is mainly for fun and AZ fellowship.I didn't go into this thing for a primary purpose of making money as the commaraderie/fun and fellowship is much more important to me. If I win, that's a bonus, but not a necessity.

Personally I think Cuechicks idea of letting everyone have Ronnie O's replacement (Luat)as a substitute was a fair one. It had everyone going into the pool equally with 25 players each.It would have been the easiest/simplest way too smooth over an arguement, that had a mere 20 minute time constraint to sort out.

Beetle and Jerry O were disenters at first, however, Jerry O has since said "I'll let RJ decide as it's his pool".I gave beetle the option to sub in Luat and he decided to stick with his orginal list.

My Final Decision:

Everyone of the four who picked Ronnie O, gets his replacement player Luat so we all go into this pool equally with 25 players.Anyone who disagree's with this can withdraw quickly. If too much hassle evolves from this, I'm going to pack up and fold the pool, as I don't need the hassle.Doing the stats takes several hours of work as it is.Remember I started this pool for fun and fellowship.

Given the time constraints I think my decision is a fair one and someone has to make the call and unfortunatley, that someone has to be me:(

In retrospect, I think you made the right decision.

If Luat wins this thing, though, I'm really going to be pissed! :)

Thanks beetle for being a good sport.

LOL, I'm in the same boat as you.If I would have known Luat was in,I would have picked him.

Running a smooth pool is more important to me.

I really think you made the right call RJ, since it is very likely that some of those who picked Ronnie are away from their computers on this holiday weekend.
I also appreciated the great job you did last time of keeping track of everything. It can not be easy. I agree this is really for fun and if any of the other participants had lost a player in the last hours of the pool they would have wanted the same decision.
