Billiard Shoes

That's the more expensive option and includes VAT which is deducted if you order outside the EU. Would be about $200 for the basic option to the US, but of course there could be some duties due.

Not terrible, I've spent a lot more on quality shoes before, though no idea how nice these are. I think they look okay and comfy shoes are a must to play pool for a long period, but also can't imagine anything that makes them specific to the sport.

Seems a little pricey to me. Try these - $5.00 at your local Walmart
I'll ship to you for only €198

Anyone actually own these and care to post a review? I've actually been looking at them too lately. I can't imagine how they'd be made specifically for pool, but I need a new pair of shoes so figured I'd take a look. Is this just a gimmick or are these things worth the $$? So far seems pretty gimmicky given the price tag...

I don't think there is anything too billiard specific about them, but they look to offer a comfortable and stable platform with good grip, all useful things. I've worn shoes that were too slick to play properly....reaching for a touch shot and having your feet slide out from under you is not fun!

Also, these are nice leather shoes, made in Portugal (I have some leather sneakers that were made there and the quality is top notch, they have a good shoemaking tradition there). Price really doesn't seem high to me at all, but I like quality shoes.

These puppies work pretty good for holding your stance. Get a pair at your local diving store.

I think what makes them for specific for pool is that pro players play in a lot of tournaments that require that they wear dress shoes. I could see most pro pool players choosing these since they don't angle your foot forward the way dress shoes do with the heel, and don't have a slippery sole like dress shoes do.

I don't see any point in getting these if you don't have an enforced 'dress shoes' rule when you play pool.

I remember they had a booth at Super Billiards Expo. If you have issues with the price, then you're not their target audience.

For that price, they should be re-soleable, and may in the long run could be less expensive than disposable shoes. My Birkenstocks are re-soleable, but my Doc Martens (except the new Docs for Life) are not.
