This event is being posted in the Main Forum rather than in Tournament Announcements because of the "uniqueness" of the rules and the unusual format. Comments, pro or con are welcome. Dennis Hatch won last year. Mike Dechaine won the 2014 version. To those that saw a strong field last year, this year is even better with many top players planning on attending. It is going to be good.

"No Conflict Rules" for racking and breaking.
2015 Full Results.
2014 Full Results.

These quarterly events that we run have become more and more popular. The Winter event with a cap of 64, was announced 5 weeks in advance. It filled in 6 days. There was a long waiting list.

Two very fine players from Toronto will be playing for the first time at Gold Crown: John Morra & Erik Hjorleifson

It's unfortunate that this is the same weekend as another major tournament in your area. It's too bad that there is no good scheduling system for pool tournaments.

I did as asked. Many players requested that I schedule and post the date early so that they could plan ahead. The event was announced on the Gold Crown website almost a year ago.

Why does everyone think there should only be one tournament per weekend in the USA??

Newsflash. ....we can fill several in the same weekend. If we all coordinate only, many people will not get to compete. Pool is growing. We need to shed small thinking and rock and roll.

Add Mike Dechaine and Shawn Putnam to the player list. A very, very good field is taking form.

Attending a tournament at Gold Crown in Erie is far more than just playing pool. Many players bring their ladies. Friday night we have a hell-of-a blues band booked. I enjoy listening to their "dinner set". Overlook the atrium and watch a sporting event on a 23 foot screen while you enjoy a meal. Come as a fan/spectator and catch a few matches. Free admission! Eventful.

Runner-up from last year's 960 man SBE amateur nine-ball tournament shall also be attending: Alex Olinger. Man, I really like his game.

This event has filled nicely with many top players, unusual in many ways and worth looking into. We have added a 32 team Partners (scotch-doubles) Bar-table Nine-Ball Tournament to run in tandem with the main event, same format & same rules:

Shane Winters and Danny Smith are playing. I understand that Shane Winter's game has jumped a couple of notches in recent years.

Bob,

I'm not aware of any other event in the Northeast on that weekend. I'm committed to Paul's event. Where is the other?

Add Eddie Abraham from Philadelphia and Lee Brett from Dublin Ohio. I see Eddie won his first two matches in the SBE pro Ten-Ball....one very tough player.

And there is of course last year's Champion, Dennis Hatch. Also add Bucky Souvanthong who has won a number of Joss Tour events.

Well, here is the field. It is a nice field for a small event. It includes the Major Pro Event winner and the Amateur Event winner this past weekend at the SBE.

A player withdrew and a spot opened up. We do have players for that spot but I will accept entries until 10:00 and make a decision later tonight.
