Hello AZ,
This is my first post, as i was a long time lurker and decided it was time to contribute. Anyways, it is a Rosewood with Amboyna handle, 30", 3/8-10 ss pin, Elk Horn joint and butt cap. Can anyone guess the maker? hint: this is not the makers usual cue style, it is a custom design and the maker made me a very happy man when he agreed to make it. Welcome to the forums :thumbup2:

I cant guess the maker but that rosewood is beautifully figured :bow-down: You seem to have found some upstanding wood for this cue.

Post some pics for us to see when it is finished, so far it looks gorgeous!

Thanks! The Rosewood is about 100 years old. Quite a few logs were purchased from Brazil in the 20's and were being used for instruments, the original owner passed before it was all sold and it sat in a barn on the family's place for many years. At some point in the 90's the family realized what they had, that was when the cue maker bought quite a few pieces. The cue maker had 4-5 pieces left, I looked at all of them and this one was far and away the nicest piece. The figure is not shown very well in the pics, the other side is darker with some very nice figure and the side shown is much lighter with many colors running my through it.
I've always wanted a Brazilian Rosewood cue, with the hopes of it playing great, I can't wait to pocket balls with this cue.
Thanks for looking!

Rings look nice.....you have to see more of the cue development to judge the cue-maker
or it's just mostly conjecture without a distinguishing design feature, such as ring style, etc.

So purely on speculation I'd venture Sly, Frey, maybe even Esoteric but regardless of
whom the cue-maker is, it looks like you are going to wind up with a wonderful pool cue.

Please keep us posted on your cue's progress.

Just by the pin alone, I want tone say Frey. Beautiful wood though, have a cue being made myself with some Brazilian Rosewood.

Sly and Frey popped into my mind as well. I didn't think about Esoteric, but could be.
It doesn't look like Diviney's work, but you never know.

Allen....the more I look at the rings, the more I think Frey but Rick has been doing some subtle cue designs
and he caught my attention more than occasionally. The wood selected is a handsome and it should look great.

p.s. By the way, I took Fresno PD's Bomb Squad's number off speed dial but am keeping the respirator mask just in case.

?

Looks like a Chris Nitti cue but since you said this isn't his normal
style I say Steve Lomax.

Could be a Joey cue but I heard that he was changing his pin to 3/8-11. Amazing combo by the way.

Still haven't got it fellows. I knew this cue would throw people off, it's not the makers standard pin, joint or style. I'm sure he has made cues like this, although I've never seen one.
Thanks for all the complements, I'm very happy with the makers execution of my ideas.

Not my foot and I don't use 3/8 10.
