Swamp Ash

I was doing some reading on "tonal" woods in guitar forums and they mentioned "swamp ash" a lot.

I know they use ash in snooker cues, but I was wondering how "swamp ash" would play in the butt of a cue.

Maybe a rosewood forearm and swamp ash handle, or something of the sort.

I don't know anything about how it would work in a cue, but I can tell you that swamp Ash is significantly lighter and less dense than what you would normally think of when you think of Ash. Makes nice, light guitars, and looks pretty under a sunburst. :)

I get swamp ash when it's hot in the summer. I go through a lot of Baby Goldbond.
This should help...
