My Christmas present came early...I called Mike Gulyassy and talked him into selling me his playing cue (he made it about a year ago). It's his new patent-pending PHX cue, a build technique he is keeping close to the vest until the patent is awarded. PHX is short for "Perfect Hit Extreme". Paired with two of his SPT shafts (a very long taper designed for Earl Strickland), it's hit and action is just that: extremely perfect! I've been playing with a 30 inch SPTX which has an even longer taper for the past 4 years and love it, and these SPT shafts are just as good, just slightly stiffer. I thought they hit nice on my -R-, but when paired with his new butt, it's amazing, the best hitting cue I've ever tried. I had Mike make me a 6 inch extension, which plays/feels awesome. The feedback, balance and natural feel of the cue is something I've never quite experienced before. A lot of cue for the money, for sure!

Cue is standard 58" length, about 19 oz. The extension is 6", about 3 or 3.5 oz, making the cue 64" and about 21 or 22 oz. Shafts are both 12.70 mm, with Ultra Skin Soft. Pin is G10. BE maple, turquoise/silver rings, leather/bullhide wrap. Melanine ferrules. And now, officially my daily player.
