Awesome looking cue.
I am sure you are proud of the results.
What is the joint and ferrules made of?

Is your strength coming back to the point where you are enjoying the game again?
I do hope you are and that you will be ready to contribute to the forum as you have in the past.

May God Be With You My Friend,
Myron

wow.. that cue is awesome... what makes it unique is its totally different then any zylr that ever seen..

I was going to ask the same thing. I'm guessing buckhorn or something like that. If I didn't know any better, it looks like mother-of-pearl...but then again, I know better. :D :p

Yo Myron,

thanks for your kind thoughts. i am getting better, the pain is under control at times but i am still too weak to cant get the cue out for a spin..i bet it'll hit awesome!
The ferrules, joints and the hoppe ring are all buckhorn as is the style of Kerry Zeiler. He is a very nice man to deal with and i recommend anyone who is looking for a awesome playing cue to look no further than
Kerry.
I still have some back orders from Tom Penrose (Rosewood Titlist) Convert, Dennis Searing (Ebony Titlist Convert) and John Davis and hopefully i am around to take delivery. :)
I'll post pics as soon as i get them.

Best Regards
Raist

I know Zeiler was one of the first to use buckhorn in his cues, but now I've heard that Mike Durbin of IL has been doing that as well...I have quite a few friends who own Durbin cues that are just like what you described for Zylr cues. In addition, Durbin made a cue for a friend that has buckhorn inlays!

Good to hear from you Raist! That cue is a beauty. Yes, Kerry is certainly a great guy to talk with - after seeing your new cue, I'll make that call I've been putting off.

Raist,

Your taste in cues just keeps getting better. Buckhorn is a superior material for joints, etc.

Keep posting Raist! A lot of people tried to write you. I know it's hard to answer.

Chris

That is one cool cue.........

Raist......smooth move on this one.
Just curious.......is the wrap walnut w/ black linen?.....also wondering if the Z ring on the butt is buckhorn too?

Dave

Raist!!!

Congrats
Your Bubby

Hi Dave,

The wrap is a brown leather that pretty matches the rosewood...i considered black wrap but i thought it was a tad too common. The Z ring is buckhorn.
Kerry never ever uses ivory, but i can tell u buckhorn does look great too.
Like to take this opportunity to say u make beautiful cues which can be spotted half a mile away in a poolroom due to its distinct look. i am a sucker for nice splice work. A pity the chances of getting a cue from u is close in my lifetime is close to zilch! Keep up the good work!

Raist,

Thanks for the info. Have you ever seen the buckhorns (stag antlers) before they are turned? I'll try to get a picture of one for you. They are pretty cool looking.

Chris

gorgeous

Raist,

That Zylr Titlist sure looks wonderful...Kerry did a great job. Can't wait to see the Searing up next to it. Am especially fond of the grain in that buckhorn...that stuff makes for such a sweet and crisp hit. Hope that all has been well with you, my friend. Take care and post back when you can.

Sean

Great cue as usual from Kerry.
The collars and the dash are generally referred to as buckhorn but they are from two different animals.
Kerry was fortunate enough to have found another type of antler that is even harder than white tail or moose or caribou.

Hi Raist,
my name is Cencen I'm from Bali, and I notice that you are quite a collector. I really would love to knbow you better and I go to Singapore alot, since my wife is half Singaporean and it's prety close flight. I'm currently in LA till Dec at least but if I'm in Sing can we hook up? Maybe some game or just talk about cues, cheers
Cencen

Thanks.....
