Kicking DVD by Lil Joe-a review

I just got the DVD by pooliq@yahoo.com (Lil Joe Villalpando). I loved it. Well worth the $40. If you have any need for kicking, this is a must have DVD.

IMO, this DVD is meant for anyone from the beginner to the high intermediate player. Then again, advanced players may pick up one or two things which will make the investment well worth it.

Most of the stuff, I knew about, but the one 2 rail system (end rail first) was new to me and will become one of my "core" kicking systems. I thought the DVD was very well formatted, the camera angles were perfect and the “digital lines and diagram overlays” were ideal.

I think he only takes Paypal, but I didn't have any problems with my transaction.

More importantly, the DVD has some good 1,2,3 rail foundation kicking systems that are very accurate. For those that think kicking is purely by feel, I disagree. Every champion player I've talked to uses a system to kick. The key is to have some foundation systems and lean how to adjust from a base, starting point.

Could you describe roughly what this end-rail-first two-cushion system was like?

I don't want to steal Lil Joe's thunder, but I'll go into a bit...

The 2 rail, end rail first system is a better system than the ol "Plus 2". The Plus 2 is used for kicking from siderail to end rail back to same side rail (usually). The premise is that you find the CB location (diamond) and OB location and shoot at a specific numbered diamond on the end rail. The problem is that this system needs a lot of adjustments to work well.

Lil Joe's sytem starts with a CB location and a diamond count starting at the opposite corner pocket, going to the "home" pocket, which is the corner pocket on the side rail.

The big differenc is that Joe's end rail numbering changes depending on the CB location. That, used in conjunction with his (others) clock system for applying Inglese to the CB makes the system work. The spin on the CB is consistant because he is applying maximum English at a consistant location (10, 11, 11:30, etc).

I feel I'm a decent kicker. I do a lot of homework on different systems and usually soak up anything related to kicking (I should be a 3 C palyer :p ). I would rate Lil Joe's DVD as good as Grady's "Only Kicks" or something similar. Lil Joe only shows 1 three rail system, two 2 rail systems and one 1 rail system. The important difference is that he shows how to adjust to different situations (like Grady's vid). That is huge because an OB is rarely sitting next to a rail diamond for the easy hit.

Thanks for the additional info. I was thinking it might be the simple plus-2 system which has been around for a century or so.
