The current plan is for the players to accept 1/3 (NOT 2/3) 0f their earnings over 3 monthly payments. And it will skew the $ earned standings.

The IPT is in total meltdown and you are wondering about the money standings?

For posteritys sake, no one will care who the leading money earner was. They will only remember the flim flam man who conned all the top players in the world.

This is just one worm in the can that was just opened today. I'm sure it hasn't been thought through this far because I think it's time to be seriously prepared for the possibility that it's over.

Absolutely! Why? Because if everyone (or the "magic number of people") accept the offer, he pays and walks away. He "settled" his debts and closed up shop.

If he just walked away without paying anything, he leaves himself open to a world of problems. (not the way I want to word this but the only way I know how without consultation on the best way to word it. )

That is exactly what he will have done. He has to maintain the illusion that the reason for doing it is to help keep the IPT on it's feet for next season while quietly closing up. There is still a carrot involved here. He also still has what ever deals he has made with who ever he made them with. I.E. TV.

He will probably also recoup his costs and maybe even make some money with the tournament footage, he isn't through there. He will market them for years to come. He is slowly and systematically digging himself out of this. The players that got for the most part stiffed will have the pleasure of watching themselves on TV as KT make money off them.

Now that I think about it in one of his first interviews he said the players could play in any tournaments they wanted, his contract only gave him the rights to their names and images. I wonder to what degree that is? He owns the rights to the image of some of the best players in the world, can they begin to turn up on tee shirts or what ever he decides to do with them in the future? There is a lot here to think about, beyond just some prize money owed.
