Sponsorship - Where Is The Money - Do Any CEOs Play Pool?

Much discussion has taken place about the lack of sponsorships to boost public recognition of our pastime, leisure activity, escape from reality, sport, incredible test of hand eye coordination etc:D

The fact is that in North America many corporate sponsorships depend on the interest of the CEO of the company. If the CEO likes to be around golfers, tennis players, or classical musicians, he may lobby for his company to become a major sponsor of an event.

Companies also like to sponsor Olympic competitors, so pool could benefit if it became an Olympic sport.

I can't recall any CEO of any major company who is known for an interest in, or talent for playing, pool, although, one suspects, many of their homes have billiard rooms.

Bill Gates and Warren Buffet play bridge, but it hasn't resulted in fat prize money and TV coverage for bridge tournaments. Seems they have other priorities for their spare change.:D

I don't know where pool gets support in Europe and the Far East, either in prize money or advertising on tournament broadcasts. In the U.K. tobacco sponsorship has disappeared, thanks to the legislators.

I played pool for about 10 years and was a good player, not a short stop but one notch below, i couldnt seem to improve no matter what, i put myself in action-sometimes the worst of it just for the pressure in the hopes to improve and i came to the conclusion: you cant train in waht God left out(How Efrin does it i'll never know), anyways I retired from pool on 94 and played every once in a while I have a gold crown in my home I had Ernesto D set it up its perfect, anyways I opened a business 10 years ago and have made tons of $$$(not bragging just getting to my point), What happened to me is why bother to play for pennys when I can lock up BIG $$$ with my biz thus my interests shifted, sadly most people with $$$ like me like to do other things, I drive Lamborghinis and have an Enzo now. However i'm getting the pool bug again but when I go to the pool room no one will know I have $$$$, dont want the attention, pool plyers are too desperate for $$$, I spent 10 years in pool rooms all over the place was on the road etc, i've seen it all. If I show up with $$$ the attention and desperation will put me off so when i go back to the pool room i'll play it small, sadly pool I feel will awalys be a short $$$ game. Which is sad. Please dont think i'm a hater I had many good friends for years in pool and got along good with everyone, i miss alot of them, I have awayls felt the pro's have been short changed. i dont want to sound negitive but I was poor and now i'm not and it just gives me a different perspective I wanted to share. i wiss everyone the best
