I bought a used Diamond table and Jason (Poolschool) was with me every step of the way. Went with me to check out the table (1.5 hour drive) too make sure it was solid. Helped me load it up, unload it, move it to the basement, tore down my old table, took off the old rubber and replaced it with new Artemis cushions, put on new Diamond facings and sanded them down perfectly, recovered the rails and bed, completed the set-up, and made this table play and look like a million bucks.

Jason is a great mechanic. He takes his time and does everything the right way. I can't thank him enough. I highly recommend him to anyone close to the Cincinnati area that needs work performed on their table.

Thanks again Jason!!!

Yes, he has proven time and time again on this forum that he will do what ever he can to help us. Your example proves this is backed up with personal service, not just talk. Glad you posted this.

Jamie, it was my pleasure. I never hesitate to go the extra mile for someone like yourself. I look forward to coming over and playing some one pocket. The Artemis cushions are the nuts... This table is really going to perform... Congratulations!

I plan to have Jason do a recover of my 8' Olhausen in the VERY near future. Jason, PM me with a price for cloth (860) and recover including rails.

Looks like you did a great job on Jamies table. Cannot wait to get over and get a lesson from the Worm;)

Peace, Joe

Poolschool

Poolschool has been a great help to me also. I bought a table from the same source as Jason. I was concerned about my purchase and poolschool was more than happy to answer all my ?'s.

I do have one more question. To tighten the pockets on my Diamond what needs to be done? Maybe I should ask how much does it cost? I would rather
not shim. I had the impression from DIAMOND that it couldn't be done.

Nice job poolschool!

Kevin

They were originally using 3/16" facings... Jamie ordered the good facings from Diamond 7/16". I think this is as big as they come. They are really nice facings but require a lot of sweat to get them mounted properly.

You can't really extend the subrail on a Diamond because if you notice that's all they have done to achieve a tight pocket. I also followed the natural angle and pitch from the factory but cheated it a little to tighten it up. I'm glad I did because that's exactly where we wanted to be. So in an essence your not shimming but replacing the facing. The rubber that they are using for the facings is top quality. Not cheapo rubber with a bunch of filler that will get hard as a rock.

Hey Joe, PM sent... Give me a call when your ready. You have a montery right?

Talk to you soon,

Poolschool,

Did the table have the larger billiard or the pro pockets on it when it was purchased? I'm guessing billiard. Mine will fit two balls plus about 1/2" in the corner pockets.

The table was an awesome find and then to have poolschool complete the setup was even better. Great work and some awesome pictures.
Looking forward to additional details on future projects.

Myron

Poolschool, I loved the pictures you posted at EPT. They gave me a clue to the way such respected table as Diamond is constructed. I've never seen it before, so it was very informative. And your step-by-step imaging of your work is nice to watch. Hope to see more pictures like these
