I'm posting these pics so everyone can understand what a terrific craftsman and perfectionist Jerry Rauenzahn is in regards to restoration and historical research of cue sticks. Here are shots of the DOA cue butts I sent Jerry -R- before he began the restoration work. I have posted before and after threads of this Rambow Brunswick model 26 ½, so you can see the incredible work he has done for me. When I received this cue it was damaged and cracked in the forearm. Take a look at the work that had to be done to save the name plate and expose the beauty of the veneers while trying to maintain a historical perspective of this treasure I call the Hafer Diamond. It's remarkable what Jerry -R- did to this cue. I can't thank Jerry Rauenzahn enough. His work is exceptional.

Here is the link to the cue restored to perfection. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=54614

I hope you can appreciate Mr. Rauenzahn"s talents and what he was able to do with cues that could have been considered fire pokers. Jerry -R- "YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!" Thank you for restoring a treasured piece of history.

Pre Rambow

I truly believe that it is much harder to restore a cue like that then to build one from scratch. Unfortunately in todays world of cue making, craftsmanship is sometimes sorry lacking. You are right to tout his workmanship, it is first class.

Great stuff. It is amazing what a skilled cue maker can accomplish with these older cues. You and Jerry saved a treasure that was born almost 100 years ago so that many more generations can appreciate its beauty.

Yes, that's a typically great job by Jerry - looking forward to seeing the pics of the final restored cue.

Jerry did a conversion of a 2-wedge snooker cue for me that was shot to hell, and made a really geat cue from it.
