Well, I bit the bullet and crossed the border to meet a few of my fellow AZers. I'm glad I did because it was a good time. I did not play up to snuff but that's minor detail. I got to meet some great people and renew some old friendships. As far as I can remember the participants were: Gstrode, Nick B, rackmsuckr, lunchmoney (Our official photographer), f@steddie, Cigardave, krbsailing, (Our gracious host), yankeepapa, kiwi and ridewiththewind. If I've missed anyone, my apologies for that. I'm not sure of the final results because f@steddie, ridewiththewind, rackmsuckr and I all left before it was over to go to another tournament in Sedro Wooley. When I looked last Nick B was in the hot seat.

We get to Sedro Wooley and play at the Overflow Tavern and ran in to some more fun and friendly people. I must say I played better in this tournament. Linda (rackmsuckr) and I drew each other first. I got lucky and made it throught the A side undefeated. I met Linda in the final and after the first set, we ended up splitting. They had a $500 9 ball break pot that nobody won but Linda and I both won $20 in a money draw. All in all I had a great time and hope us AZers decide to do this again.

I hope Don can find a way to post his pictures because he has some good ones.

I had a good time also. Nick B ending up beating me in the finals and Yankee Poppa was third. I did get a lot of good photos and will be posting them soon. Was nice meet everyone and to finally put some faces to the names. Hopefully we can do it again soon.

I am glad that you all had a great time. I was busy battling in our team event at the coast. It was nice to see Linda at the coast and quite the turn around trip to go from Lincoln City, OR to Bellingham for that tourney. Take care!

Damn you guys, I wish I was there.

I hate when I miss out on the fun. It's hard to get out late on the middle of the week, even if your only a half hour away.

I'd like to add that I especially enjoyed meeting all of you there... and I had a great time shooting in the tournament... and a special thanks to our gracious host, krbsailing!!! ;) ... just wished that I lived closer so that I could frequent your place more often, Ken. :)

It was a great time - thanks to everyone for putting it together and for the fun time.

The 9 ball break pot at The Overflow was $638. I bought $20 worth of tickets and got called twice, once at $300 and something. I broke, made a ball, and had a clear out. Problem was the 1 ball was just out of my reach and jacked up. I miscued with the bridge. Then I was called again when it was $100 and something and came up dry on the break. But as Scott said, I did get my original $20 buy-in back.

Lately, I have been taking the long road back in every tournament. Lincoln City, Mike and I lost the first match we played (hill-hill) and came back all the way through to the finals, beat them one set and lost the last set when the wheels fell off the bus. The disadvantage to being on the B side is that you play from 9 am til 2 or 3 am then come back at 9 am the next morning. We spent 4 days like that. And I was still sick. :(

Same thing happened in singles down there. I knew I was in a tough bracket and lost my first match hill-hill, then at least got into the money before I went down.

In Bellingham, I lost both matches hill-hill, LOL. Then at The Overflow, lost my first match to Scott hill-hill. Went on the B side, came all the way back around and met him in the Finals. We agreed to 1 race to 2 and 1 game for the Finals. After I beat him 2-0, we just agreed to call it a night, and split $100. I then went to spend the night with my daughter and gave her my hard-earned $70 to go shopping with. :p

This past week has been a lot of pool for me...I am still recovering today. It was great finally putting names to some faces and I have to say, AZB has some of the best members in the world!

Don, very cool pics....not the easiest place to take pics considering the lighting conditions :)

I'd love a print of mine....but, can you touch it up a little with some more hair on top please  :D

Thanks for posting the pics! Hope we can organize another event late summer or early fall!

Not a problem, I have Photoshop Elements 5.0 LOL. Late summer sounds really good. Hopefully one will get going down in Seattle/Tacoma/Portland. I am ready for a little road trip.

Great pics, Don.....'cept of me, of course!! I much prefer being behind the lens, because I look goofy when I shoot....much nicer with a smile on my face...UGH!

Scott....sorry I fubar'd your screen name...I was going off the sign-up sheet, and could have swore it was a 'w' and not an 'n'....doh!

I agree, it was great fun, and I am sorry that those who could not make it missed out on all the fun. :( We'll definitely have to do it again!!

Yep, more fun was to be had in Woolley...I did okay...lasted longer there than in the tournament at Ken's....by the time I finally got to play Linda, for some reason my gut was on fire, and quite frankly, I was ready to go home.

It was great meeting some new peeps, and I think it was a great time had by all!!

Lisa -----------> who thinks that Don needs to delete her pic...lol.

Sorry I couldn't make it, but my car got towed on Tuesday!

Oh well, guess you guys and gals got lucky for one more tourney. ;)

Just dropped the idea of going to Chinook for the APA 8-ball thing, so I'm going to try for the McDermott stop when it comes to town that same weekend. I still plan on trying to make it next weekend for the B & Below tourney at Cadillac, but that depends upon me getting a ride now. :o
