Eric sent me a PM a few days ago telling me that he would go to the Philly airport to check the scene out and possibly find my luggage.... I told him thanks, however hold off at the time since I couldn't even get through to the baggage department. He lives 1.5 hrs away from the airport and is still telling me he'd be happy to go....

I have called the PHL airport at least 10x a day and didn't get through until last night. I tell the lady on the phone that I am looking for my luggage, and she said, "Do you have any idea how much is here??"

I replied with, "Wait!!! If you see this bag, you'd know it... It's kinda odd shaped, like a black duffel bag, only smaller.." She said to wait, she thinks she knew where it was...... Low and behold, she said, "I have both of your bags right here."

I told her to hold them, and conferenced in Eric. He said he would be there within 2hrs to pick them up, and I told the lady (who confirmed the contents with me) to not let ANYONE but Mr. Eric Hu pick them up. Eric called me a few hours later letting me know that he does infact have my items in hand, and all is just as I left them. I thanked him immensely (and will continue to do so) and asked that he mail them back to me. SWA said they'd be happy to put them on the next plane to Seattle, however with a layover, I think I'd trust Eric more!!!! (saying a lot, I know..) :p

Eric called me this morning to let me know it's all in the mail and will be here tomorrow. Just to speak a bit higher, he came out of pocket the cash to mail all of my items ($100) and I'm having a hard time getting him to take a "reward" of sorts!!!

There are still great people out there, and I consider Eric to be at the top of the pile.... Eric, I cannot thank you enough. It's been really rough as of late, and your generosity just blows me away.

I wanted to wait until I was officially out of the woods and had them in hand, but with the amount of PM's and posts to the original thread, I cannot ignore them all or tell you all, "nothing yet..." when I know damn well it's all coming....

So a big thank you to all for all of your support as well.

-Ross

DS - can I still get that cue in the next month or so??? :D

I already sent you the Hercek Hoppe.....you are going to send it back right??

Great news Ross, hope they all arrive safe and sound.

Ross....That is friggin' AWESOME!!!!! I am soooooooo glad that it all worked out for you, and in a good way. :D I know that you would have been much happier having your luggage back, than a compensation...as I understand what these cues meant to you.

Very cool!! Please do let us know when you actually have your beloved cues in hand, and that all is well with Ross' World. :)

Eric.....you just scored major, major karma my friend, good on ya!!! It so refreshing to see there really are good and decent people in the world still...kinda restores my faith in humanity....I was beginning to wonder myself. I hope you have all sorts of good things coming your way, as your integrity and honesty are certainly deserving....many, many kudos to you , sir. :D

I just want to add, that there are many members here that jumped right in to help Ross out in his time of need. I hear the negative of the pool world all the time, but y'all stepped up, when you did not have too, and really answered the call....may all of you have all the good that life can bring to you and yours, for your unabashed generosity....and y'all know who you are! I am just so proud to know all of you in our little online extended 'family'.............y'all ROCK!!

That is a great story! Kudos to Eric for his time and trouble.
I have found that I have met real quality people in the pool world. Funny how the average folks think poorly of us poolroom people...

One more thing I wanted to add, I cannot believe the willingness to give here.... I was offered cash, cues, and anything I needed due to this.....

Had I accepted, I'd have probably a few thousand in cash and at least 20 cues, ranging from a Viking to a Hercek.... Thanks so much, guys. You all are incredible...

Yeah Buddy!!!

The Az members are wonderful! Great job folks. This is where it's at in my book. The best damn bunch of pool players on the planet. Great news Ross and a jam up job by eric. I am very proud to be a part of this forum.

Gives you something to think about don't it ? just think about the stolen Cog and what two honest guys went through trying to do something right for somebody. I am glad to see that most Azers will help even if they spend time and money to do a great deed. I know you feel good in many ways now 1PRoscoe, Got cuesback and had many love offerings on top of that. Thanks to both of you 1PRoscoe and exp. Eric--------- Leonard

Ataway, Eric!!

Congratulations on getting your cues back. That's the kind of thing that could have haunted you for a while :)

That is so awesome of Eric and I am glad you got your property back, Ross. Can I book with Southwest now? lol.

Way To Go Eric

I have known eric a few years now. We met a couple of years ago when we both went to the Billiards digest CCB tournament. I have found Eric to be nothing short of amazing. Always willing to help and always willing to offer a ride. Last year i had the great pleasure of riding to the annual CCB dinner with eric and his lovely bride....Way to go Eric.... Kudos to you always.........................mike

Eric is a class act and I have known that for quite some time.

Ross, I'm very happy that you got your property back. :D

First thing i did when i saw Eric this year was to tease him about not getting into any fights this year, and then congratulate him on popping whathisface.
Some things just have to be done.
To me, that was like someone squishing a bug that wouldn't stop flying around your face.

Eric is one of the nicest guys i have met over the years, and despite only seeing him every now and then, i have always gotten along with him and enjoyed his company. To come home tonight and read this doesn't surprise me one bit.

He shouldn't have those EXPO actions held against him seeing as he was dealing with a total whackjob to begin with.

It's nice to read that 1pRoscoe got his stuff back, and that a standup guy who caught some flack for dealing with a problem was the guy who came to the rescue.

This thread is an example of what makes a forum like AZ really work. People can connect on here and make things happen anywhere.

My hat is off to Eric for stepping up and being the man this time. Next time it may be you.

Double bubble baby!!!

If the FL episode didn't make you wanna shake Eric's hand, this certainly should at least get him a peck on the cheek.:D Way to go Eric. You're doubly cool.
