I ordered a cue from John Davis several months ago and he charged me $1400 for the cue, with a deposit to boot. Now I see one of his new cues here for less than he is asking for one. Thanks for trashing the market for the cues.

John Davis Cue

First off, John is a good friend of mine, so I certainly don't want to trash the market. I should explain about this cue, My Mistake, This is a John Davis cue, However, it has a handrubbed finish, not done by John, It has an Ivorine 3 Joint as opposed to John's Usual Ivory Joint, plus this cue does not have Ivory on the Shaft Collars, John's usual cues do and Johns cue usually have Ivory Ferrules, this one does not. So do the math, and you'll find it's easy to see the difference in prices. That's my mistake, I don't want to get into another AZ pissing contest, which seems to be what alot of members use it for. Wouldn't a simple, maybe you're hurting the market have sufficed and been more professional than saying that I'm TRASHING the Market? Greg:D :D :D :D :D

I JUST WANTED TO TYPE SOMETHING REALLY BIG, LIKE YOU GUYS DID.

GOOD LUCK WITH THE SALE GREG.

P.S. WHO DID THE REST OF THE WORK? DID JOHN MAKE THE SHAFTS? DID HE DO THE WRAP?

i am pretty sure that this is america and he can sell a cue for whatever he wants.if he paid $1400 it is not against the law for him to sell it for $1200 if he needs money.i am also pretty sure almost all cuemakers require a deposit.

hi Larry, It's Just That When You Get Old, Like Me, You Can't See And Figure Nobody Else Can Either. But Wow, That's Really Big Font!!! Greg

Has nothing to do with your sale, but if you use Firefox for your internet browsing, you can enlarge and reduce the font very easily. They have an add-on that allows the same thing for images too.

I don't know if Internet Explorer has these features or not, it's been years since I have used it.

Back on topic, good luck with your sale.

Hi Marcus, John Did The Wrap, Actually He Did Everything But The Finish And Someone Else Put The Collars On The Shafts, Which Were Also Made By John. Thanks, Greg

Now that was funny.

I just want to say that Greg Howard, more than anyone, has done a lot to help John Davis over the last year. He has steered John in the right direction and all of John's cutomers will eventually benefit from it.

Greg is one of my best bird dog type of contacts for finding "hard-to'find" cues and alweays gives the best prices. While John is a legendary blank maker, he is still learning the complete cue making end of the operations, finishes, inlays, etc. You can bet he will be in the upper tier when the dust settles and I predict there will not be enough John Davis cues to go around.

Chris
