With the full 64 man field in Florida this weekend the Spring Fever tournament in Starkville, MS didn't have its usual turnout. In fact, only 16 players forked over their $75 to compete in the 9 ball event..... Southern Billiards' webmaster, Plowboy, just posted this on the SouthernBilliards.com web site. This is why Professor R. H. Gilmer is the best room owner in the country, he truly cares. The Professor also provided free live web cam coverage of the event.
Howdy all,
I have attended all but one of the tournaments at Southern Billiards. This year something happened that has never happened before. As many of you know, there have been low turnouts for tournaments all over the country.
Professor called for everyone to listen up. There are only 16 paid players for the tournament. 1st place pays around 400 bux and so on. He then says: Every player needs to go to the front counter and pick up their entry fee. This One's On ME!!
That's right folks. Due to the low turnout and the fact that many of the players traveled a good distance, the players got their entry fee refunded and they get a FREE ROLL at the tounrment prize payouts.
Make sure to tell every player you see. Tell them how the players were treated down in Starkville, MS.
