The European Pool Championship for pupils, juniors and girls started today, in Willingen, Germany.

For 1 week the youths will battle it out in 14-1, 8-ball, 9-ball and teams. RACK BY RACK UPDATE FROM ALL MATCHES + some matches broadcasted live at www.bwin.com. (In straightpool the score is updated live on internet after each ball!!!!!)

The first days is the 14-1 pool competition. My predictions for 14-1 pool winners:

Pupils:
Chinakov Ruslan from Russia, Mats Schjetne from Norway as outsider.

Juniors:
Nico Wehner from Germany, Roy Gerards from Holland as outsider.

EDIT: I forgot that Albin Ouschan Jr. (Jasmin's younger brother) is also playing in the juniordivision.... New prediction. Albin Ouschan Jr as winner, Nico Wehner as outsider.

i give a shoutout to Stephen Lammes, who will surprise more then one :D
he just won the national men's ranking (not youth) vs players who vs the biggest guns out there.

If he can keep his head cool, he can win from anyone !.

I don't remember the names of the players in the final of the 14-1 for pupils, but for juniors Albin Ouschan won.

My inside-report says that Nico Wehner, Germany opened. Albin made 3, then Nico made 11 and played a safe. Albin returned the safe. Nico made 71 and missed. Albin ranout with 97 for the victory, and the match ended in 3 innings. The match will be available on DVD aswell.

8-ball division started now.

My predictions: (Only for junior-division, don't know so many names in the pupils divison)
Artem Koshovyy from Ukraine as winner, with Evgen Y. Novosad (Ukraine) and Nico Wehner (Germany) as outsiders.

For those of you who are not familiar with the tournament, 8-ball, 9-ball and 14-1 is the chosen diciplines, but each player can only play 2 each. So my favourites for the titles, Artem has chosen 8-ball and 9-ball, Albin Ouschan Jr has chosen 14-1 and 9-ball, Nico Wehner has chosen 14-1 and 8-ball.

Guess the titles in the juniordivision will be won by one or more of these guys.

Artem Koshovyy - Nico Wehner. Probably the 2 best players in the 8-ball division.

Odds on bwin 2,7 on Artem, 1,4 on Nico. I will put my money on Artem here.

That Dynamic II table sure looks like a Gold Crown.
 
i still prefere a Gc... just looks less industrial (ps even if i love the DII ! dont get me wrong)

Stephen lammens made it into the last 16 true the winnerside with 6-0, 6-4, 6-2 scores;) told ya, the boy can play.
 
and now he's in the quarter final's with a new 6-3 win.

for a small country like belgium with almost no poolbackground , we sure have alot of good players.

He also played the EK for the man last year, where they wrote some articles about him, as he won several matches and he being still so young, he really impressed more then one.

he's now on the hill with 5-1 for a place in the semi-finals !!!

Ow man, i feel he's going all the way! He said he felt greath, and was enjoying himselve and he felt VERY confident! He needed some time to adjust to the croud and tables, but he now is in his zone and feeling like he just CAN'T lose.

lets hope so !! :D

Round3: 6-2 win
Last16: 6-3 win
Quarter final: 6-2 win
semi final: Starts at 2:15 PM
final: starts at 4:15 pm


To bad Kamilla (the 11y old turned 12 now) couldnt play :'(
I bet that stephen and kamilla would make a GREATH team to represent Belgium on international level.

Stephen just won the Semi finals from the last polish player remaining with 6-2 score!!!

he will play in the finals vs Pruhai, Roman from Russia.


Oh GOD damn , im so happy for the kid. Achieving a HIGH pool level in a country like mine , at his age is AMAZING. His best score was 9th, and now he's playing the final. I mean this kid has more hearth then a lion. He just NEVER gives up, and his nickname sharky really suites him!.

my 0.2c, he's going ALL the way. With the confidence he has now, NO one can beat him.

if anyone could rip the match from Bwin with a program like total recorder, PLZ do so. im at work and cant do anything. i would like to keep his final match...

these kids deserve more support and respect!!

I should start to bet more!!!

The final will start in 1 hour:

Nico Wehner - Evgen Y. Novosad.

Artem Koshovyy finished 3rd, lost 7 - 3 to Evgen.

My predictions for the final: Evgen Y. Novosad from Ukraine. Will be a close match, both players have played almost superb and beaten their opponents heavily, so my bet is 7 - 5 to Evgen.
 
im sure a bet on stephen lammes would have made you rich too :p

i wonder how his odds where in the beginning and now? (cant go to bwin on my work.)
