Joint size= .835
Butt size at bottom= 1.372
Black rings appear to be ebony, almost 100% sure. At the bottom of the cue appears to have had label on it at one time or another. This cue has a 16 oz stamp on it. Looks to be untouched and very very old.
Contact the guy from the 3cushion site. He is very knowledgeable and will be able to tell you anything about it. He also helped out with the Blue Book of Pool Cues.
i've got a few of those double butterfly cues
tom cunningham can probably help you the most
i've paid anywhere between $100 & $400 for them
the black at joint is plastic, not sure what kind of plastic, but sherm has a coffee can full of those black & white rings at his shop
almost all of those cues had the top set of butterflies cut off to do joint
i have heard, wouldn't swear to it, but those cues were meant to be one pc cues that the shaft warped, so they cut to two pc cues??? who knows??
i wish there was an old ex brunswick employee on az that could help with more info
my dad's cue, that he bought in 1951 for his 15th bday, paid $12 for it new
here's my personal shootin' iron
i cored into forearm , so as to not lose the top set of butterflies
i paid about $75 for this
it was in horrible condition as a one pc cue
see where they cut off the top butterfly for joint
I believe Tom's ID here is TECUNNINGHAM if you want to message him. I know that he has a one piece double butterfly (straight) for sale too. He had told me that many of these were made by Schaaf Manufacturing and were marketed by Brunswick. I could be wrong, but I think he said this was called a model 21. I did a little research on Schaaf at one time, and next to nothing can be found.
