1 Pocket World Championships!!!!!

well, I have been inspired by some of the posts here lately.

Monday morning, first thing, I am going to inquire, and begin making the effort to stage an official WPA sanctioned 1 pocket world championship tournament.

And in honor of some of these very same posts, and there creators, I will be taking a more hands on approach for this event.

I don't know exactly all the specifics, but at this point I know 3 things.
1) it will be an INVITATION ONLY event.
2) for the benifit of our resident nationalist bigot, most of the field will be European and Asian. (can't wait to see players like soquet, feijen, Hohmann, and ouchan battle it out)
3) it will be produced by dragon promotions.

Why put on such an event? Because I can.

Umm I don't know how that long string of red happened. It was an actual image before... Deleted now.

Just a suggestion... You may want to post the rules of the game over each table. :p
 
And I will do everythign I can to stop you.

And I will lobby the WPA to not sanction your tournament as a World Championship.

I will make it a point to highlight that you are now going out of your way to be divisive and that your intent is apparently to apply your financial muscle for your own sadistic pleasure. Pretty much in the same way that you crucified Kevin Trudeau for.

I hope the WPA does NOT buy into your petty politics and grant you the sanction to label your event a WPA World Championship.

I hope you fail, and despite SJM's logic about embracing promoters because of short supply, I hope you fail miserably. As a human being you are already a failure.

You can't hold a candle to Grady Matthew's accomplishments. In the pool world he is the millionaire and you are the beggar boy. The only possible way you can make yourself feel good when holding a pool cue is buy yourself some real players to hang out with.

So go ahead and burn your money. The players will gladly take it as long as you are handing it out.

You are still a rotten, rotten person and all the money in the world won't buy you an ounce of character.
 
i like all but one part of this idea:confused: why make it an invitational event? let everybody come and play instead of making these popularity tournaments.i think youre going to open a whole other can of worms here but i got the feeling thats your intention all along:cool: i want to see the best player win,not the player that you tell me is the best!

I tried calling Michaela Tabb to officiate this, but she's busy. She FedEx'ed me a striped referee shirt and s soon as I got it on, I got right back to this thread to say the following...

"I am 99.999999% sure that Randy is only joking. Call it sardonic humor, but I'm pretty certain it was posted tongue in cheek."

If not, this post is going to set all kinds of records :eek:

It would also be wonderful if something similar could also be done for the game of 8-ball.
 
sorry, even though I like 8ball, I think I probably would prefer a championship bank event next. One event at a time. We will see how this new venture goes, first.

Furthermore, although he is on ignore, and I can't read his posts, I see that barton posted in my thread. No doubt it more than likely is full of ad hominen attacks with his usual name calling thrown in for good measure. As a previously banned poster, reincarnated as he was once 1pocketchump. I wonder why the mods allow him to continue this uncivilized behavior. One thing for sure is, I'll find out.

Congrats... I think whatever kind of tournament that you put together, it will be to the benefit of the fans, which to me, is what matters.

I was wondering the same thing at first but then it dawned on me. Somebody "seeing red?"

I may well be wrong. I did think it was odd but as long as Deadpoked has that gopher/prairie dog signature thing going I'll read all his posts. I love that thing!!:D

I think he is starting a new billiards association SWPBA (Socialist World Pool / Billiards Asscoiation) :D However, I am not certain!!!!!
 
Well I hope you invite players like Tony Chohan, Scott Frost, and Billy Palmer and not just the most popular pros because these three are three of the best in one pocket. Hope it works because I would love to check the tournament out. Way to go man!

Sorry about the RED guys. I actually posted an image of a kitten being chased by some domo-kuns that said "Everytime you start a flamewar, God kills a kitten". It originally posted the image properly but then I came back and I saw all that red and I was thinking to myself who is the IDIOT that posted this!!! Then I realized the idiot was myself... :o :D
