i have a g/f who i need to propose to in the coming days.
ofcourse she'll get the biggest rock ill be able to buy to help
convincing her, so im selling some of my cues off my cuecollection.

here is the first one

the cue is a Hiolle .
very rare and sought antique in excellent condition with 2 perfect shafts

Offer no longer available. its off to ebay

All about hiolle cue's. mine is a Hiolle distributed by Horemans (thats where the inscription comes from, and it looks like the number 18, exept mine has a buttcap in a different wood

some info about the cue and the company

The famous French billiard house Hiolle bears the name of the man who founded it in 1820. Its factory was located in Maranville (Haute-Marne) France, and employed 35 workers before World War I. Several Marillier family members succeeded M. Hiolle and settled their shops in Paris. The factory was taken over by Klein about 1950-60 and closed down in 1982. For more details, see the paper entitled Les Billardiers Hiolle et Klein by Gilles Fourtier, published in the French review Folklore de Champagne, 130, pp.14-25, 1992. Originally, Hiolle cues were made mainly in ebony, Indian rosewood, amaranth, Macassar ebony, bubinga, service tree, hornbeam and maple. They were quite often carved and inlaid with mother-of-pearl and ivory. Hiolles are especially known for their 4 (or more) points .

the cue is 85%-90%.
You can hardly see this cue is almost an era old, exept from some surface scartches and dents, there is nothing i can find wrong.
The cue was purchased from a woman who rescieved it from her grandfather.
Her granfather had used it to win the leuvens kampionshap 3banden ( 3-cussion state championship in belgium)

The cue comes with 2 shafts. Even now people are still searching like crazy for hiolle shafts. The shafts fits the butt perfectly!.

ive testhit some balls with it, and the hit of both shafts is SOLID.
you could use it as a player if you really wanted it, but i think its more a collectionars item. The newer shaft can always been sold seperatly for people who are looking for the old growth shafts for there hiolle.

i could measure all the specs, weight of shaft and but, diameter, balance point, length etc.. but as i guess this will be a collection cue, and guess it doesnt matter. If wanted, i can always provide the info ofcourse.

the cue rolls straight, and it is balanced amazingly. It even feels better then the cue im playig pool with.

now the important part: The logo is PERFECT!!. only a the M at the right is almost gone, but all the rest is perfectly readable. the inscription HOREMANS, is perfectly readable. For a cue this old, the logo is in an amazing shape. (compare it to brunswick logo's on titlist, willie hoppe, etc who are from the same era, who are all beaten up)

like states from an antique website who sells these cue's:

Marks and decals :They are often applied on the front of the cue butt so that, when a cue is frequently used, they gradually deteriorate and sometimes disappear.

This logo is ABOVE the finish, not beneath. this cue has been sitting around in a leather case for over a half century.

2005067175965255120_rs.jpg

the grandfather won this special cue when he won the state championship.

The butt section has:

fullsplice uneven 4 points. ebony into unknown (it dont looks like maple)
8 round ivory inlays in butt-end
ivory joint (i think, i can see a very light grain)
highly crossed carved buttsection.
flat faced wood to wood

shafts1:
ivory joint
unknown (maple?) wooden pin

shaft 2:
aluminium joint, plastic pad
Ebony wooden pin

Total weight: 500gr.

For references ask BHQ. ive traded 10+ cue's with him and my ebay acc is solartje.

Now the price is hard. basically what u get for antiques, is what the market will pay.

Most Hiolle cue's go on ebay for around 200-300$. Thats with one shaft and old logo, this cue is in amazing !!! state and comes with 2 shafts that are in perfect shape

I'm asking 400$ shipping included, for this nicely maintained cue.

Pm if u have any more questions.

morning bump

this is a good deal for a Hiolle with this quality and perfect logo.

i counted:
300$ for the perfect cue and logo
60$ for the second Hiolle shaft
40$ shipping

. maybe i should post this in the 3c section
even if they sell like sweet coockies on ebay, over here it seems hard to sell
these old bottle shaped 3c vintage cue's.

375$ SHIPPED. i need to move this cue !!

sounds like not much for a 3c cue :D

he already has the cue, as it is the 6th cue on the picture of his Hiolle collection cue's.

I did email him to know the exact age and pricevalue.

Damn hard to sell these super cue's on azb. last time i had like 20 nice comments, but no offer. I'd hate to go on ebay, but i need to sell this.

thx for the info wei, ill edit it on the first post.

its to late for me m8. im not savable :D

Pictures might help, not links to websites with pics of cues "like" the one you are trying to sell, unless the links in your post are of the actual cue and not another of the same model. Good luck on this one.

all the pictures in this post are pictures i took last night of my cue.
the link to the website is just for extra information about the same model/brand.

thx for the good luck.

PS Guy just emailed me back to say it wasn't the number 5 model but more a number18 model compare

I just dont think he already has this cue. Its very close to the #18, as both are hiolle's distributed by Horemans
in belgium, both have 4 points, 8 inlays, crossed engraving, same wood and bumpers, exept mine has a different wood in the buttcap.

I just dont think there is any picture available of exactly mine on his website.

ANYWAY:

this is a Hiolle with 2 perfect shafts in excellent condition and perfect logo.
375$ is a steal, no matter wich # it exactly is

Its thursday now:

so this is a one time AZ offer, as i dont really like ebay trading. i prefere someone i trust from the forum:

350$ shipped to your door

this offer lasts 24H exactly. at this price im losing on it.
as they sell for 300$ in normal shape and 1 shaft.

PS: if anyone is interested in buying the 3 cues of my collection im selling, pm me, and i'll give you all the info.
France: 1x Hiolle + 2 shafts + leather softbag (vintage antique)
Belgium: 1x Vanlaere + 2 shafts + leather tube (bottle shape
Belgium: 1x Bauer + 1 shaft (oldest cue i have, bottle shape)

For 850$ this small collection is yours. (ps offer only lasts 24H)

after that its off to ebay. a Sampaio from the 40's with 1 shaft just sold for 200+, and is not even near as popular as the once from my collection.

Loool :D

nah i don't think i will suffer with her. She has the brains of a men (no nagging, loves to drink, smoke, play pool, going out, partying etc etc..) in the body of a HOT woman. :) (im 30 she's 22)

i would be stupid not to marry her !!!

ps i think she suspects something :D she told me last night, she had a feeling i would ask her to marry her yesterday.

i proposed her once with a plastic ring from a plastic coke bottle. when u open it, there is always a ring left, and i used that. :p worth trying
at least then i wouldnt have to sell some of my collection.
hope a bigger rock will help her convince this time :D

thx for the encouragements m8

46 minuts left for the 350$ price!!

im NOT going to reduce the price more as im losing already with this price, shipping etc included.

so 46minuts, and then your only chance will be ebay. Good luck there.

to bad no one from the forums is collecting these. :o
being from the 3c-country where Ceulemans played, i can easily find the oldest and rarest 3c cue's from the 1900's, but
the demand on this forum is almost inexistent.

a pitty.
