hi everybody ,i just posted a message in the cuemaker section that im looking for a cue deal. someone offered to buy my cue so im looking to strike a cue deal with a production company or custom maker.in return for a playing cue with monthly compensation either cash or cues ,you will get this..your company name on my shirt .you will also be on tv such as espn, fox sports ,magazines ,accu stats ,internet and my word of mouth .one thing though i would rather play with a great cue for less money than take bigger money and use a bad cue. im not asking for anything unreasonable and im open to negotiations. if you feel your cues are great cues and you would like tons of exposure in the billiard world and are interested in talking about a deal with me feel free to pm me.have a nice day john schmidt

i love how every newbie and moron (no offense) likes to come into these threads and talk crap to a world class player and champion like John... no wonder most of the pro's that come on here are ran off in a short time.

Mr. 400

Sounds like potential for a great win-win situation here, for a class act champion and a fine cuemaker. I am looking forward to hearing the outcome. Thanks, Mr. Schmidt, for posting here on AzBilliards. I always enjoy reading what the masters have to say about pool.

John
I think it would be a financial stretch (monthly compensation and/or cues) for most one man shop custom cuemakers like myself. There are several larger cuemakers who are ACA members you might call --- Danny Janes of Joss Cues is a real standup guy and helps whenever he can.

No offense meant and I hope none taken BUT - who is John Schmidt?

WOW...this is the guy calling me a "Scumbag" in another thread, talking about how he works so hard to promote pool. Yeah, I can tell you are incredibly knowledgeable!

Craig...why don't you run this by Tony at Black Boar??
:p
That was my first thought, too, sir.

Good call......and I would imagine Tony would love the added exposure. I can see the BB logo on ESPN now....and it brings tears of joy to my eyes! :) :)

Hope you find the right fit, John. Best of luck, whichever direction you go!!

Call Scott at Sterling here in Charlotte. He's always looking for a champion to sponsor. Can't hurt to ask.;)

Perhaps a deal like Jeannete Lee has? Mosconi billiards is her sponsor, but I read somewhere that her cues are "Mosconi by Dave Jacoby"...meaning a factory cue, but that factory and a custom maker have a licensing arrangement? Maybe I'm in an area here I don't fully understand. Hope somebody can fill in how this works...

ActionHound owes some posters an apology!

First things first, a newbie and a world class champ are both just a couple guys stroking wood while enjoying a parlor room board game.

ActionHound, didn't you notice the " ;) " after the newbie asked Mr. Schmidt to use his sneaky pete. If not, why not. And isn't this a good time for Mr. Scott Lee to come in and say that there is no difference between playing cues so perhaps Mr. Schmidt should use the Sneaky!

As for the other poster, I'd like to know too. Tell us, Mr. Schmidt, what cue do you currently play with?

There's nothing moronic about either one of those posts. In fact, I found them to be humorous and I'd bet John would also.

Waiting with high hopes to be able to cheer John on to victory in a straight pool tournament - winning tournaments with 3 ball race to 2 doesn't quite cut it!

Very Truly Yours,
The Woim

well John is a personal friend of mine and i read those posts a little differently than you did aparently... i just think in a thread like this he deserves alot more respect than was given...

and if there wasnt anything wrong with the 3rd post in this thread then why did the author feel the need to go and erase what he posted and post something totally different?

Why do people say the "pros" get ran off because of what someone says? Do you really think that being involved in the "pool world" that the players are easily offended? One day at a pool room is worse than what someone can say on here. heh. Just saying. No point to what I'm speaking I guess.
