It's a good thing you posted up the directions, Dana. Last time I was there, I got lost. :o

There was a lot of twists and turns to get there off the main highway.

BTW, there's a nice sandwich shop right next door to Comets. The jukebox has some really cool music. However, it is always on low volume while the tournament is going on. I enjoyed the selections they had on it.

Lots of room between tables, this pool room is a player's room, with high ceilings and a real professional atmosphere.

Don't stay at the Quality Inn if you're staying overnight! Trust me!

If you get the coupon book at the rest stop, the quality inn is less than 50 bucks. Yeah, it's a shithole, but everything else in the area is 100 bucks or more. When I stay there, I go to Comet first and hit balls until im really tired and then just go there to crash.

Kong over Corr for Joss Tour Win

http://www.azbilliards.com/2000storya.cfm?storynum=4793

The third stop on the new Joss NE 9-Ball Tour's season was held at Comet Billiards in Parsippany, NJ on October 27th and 28th with a field of 39 players competing for over $5000 in prize money. The first two stops were notable in that they each saw first time tour winners come out on top. This stop continued that streak.

The winners side came down to tour director Mike Zuglan and Joey Kong for the hot-seat. This match was won by Kong 9-8.

On the one loss side, Karen Corr was crushing her opponents and Zuglan ended up her next victim by the score of 9-5.

The finals between Kong and Corr saw Kong race out to a quick 7-0 lead. The players traded games to take the score to 8-1 before Corr made her run. Corr won five straight games to only trail by two at 8-6, but that was as close as she would get as Kong won the next game for the 9-6 win.

Kong earned $1300 for his first win on tour, and Corr settled for $900.
