This thread is where I'll be posting updates and related info over the weekend. PLEASE do not post to this thread - I'd like to keep it purely for update info. Nothing going yet! The players meeting is scheduled to start at 1pm local, and play to begin at 2pm. I'll be heading back over to Mr. Cues before then.

IS this really a Championship in all senses and levels or just another tournament with Championship in the title?

The latter. IMO, The BCA Open, Masters & Grand Masters are the best amateur tournaments of the year.

Just got set up here. Took a couple of photos of the men's/women's boards - check the photo gallery link at the top.

Player's meeting should be starting at 1pm.

Player's meeting is going - matches are supposed to be starting at 1:30, but those things never start on time.

Match play has started. JoeyA and cuechick, at the least, have started their matches. easy-e and hobokenapa are standing around so their matches don't start for a while.

(JoeyA was 1-1 on a race to 7 last I saw.)

I'll post updates on various matches as I can (I'm trying to get real work done here at the same time) :D

Matches are starting to wind up around the room.

Samm Diep got her match 5-3.
Cuechick lost her first match 5-3.

No other AZBer or AZBer-friend matches are done yet.

Next round of matches are scheduled to start at 3pm, but the 1:30pm group got started a little late, so we'll see.

Samm just won her second match, 5-0.
Easy-e and hobokenapa are up at 6pm.
Not sure when JoeyA plays again, and I've no idea about 'oneshotwiss', who he is, etc.

6pm matches are going.

I was asked to watch for a fellow named Michael Sukofsky by someone - guess who easy-e is playing right now? :)

Hobokenapa won his first match, 7-5.
Easy-e lost his first, 7-5 also (if I heard him right).

No more updates tonight!

Ok I lied, one last update for tonight. :P

Left the venue a while ago - Hobokenapa was just starting his second winner-side 9:00 match. I saw JoeyA wandering around as well after not seeing him for a while, so I assume he's playing his first one-loss match at 9pm as well. I'll post results on those tomorrow.
 
I lost my second match 7-4 to a young kid called Joseph Cole. He had wonderful cue ball control, and was a joy to watch.

JoeyA went two-and-out. :(
I assume "M. Wissman" is oneshotwiss - he's on the one loss side, after winning his first match.
Next round starts at 11.

Earlier I got here, saw that JoeyA was out. He wanders in not too long after, so I say "aw man, sorry you're out." "What? I'm not out. I won my match last night," says he.

Turns out when finishing up the paperwork, he wasn't wearing his glasses, and he circled the wrong name to indicate who won the match! The match counts clearly showed Joey as the victor.

So we called the TD over, they pulled the paperwork, and got it all straightened out. JoeyA is just starting his third match. :D

easy-e and hobokenapa are also just starting matches as well.
