Skins Billiards Championship in Atlantic City, NJ, 11/19-20

Just took a visit to the Skins Billiards Championship website, and I was pleasantly surprised to see some of the players who will be battling it out, to include Johnny, Earl, Corey, Gabe, Fabio, Thorsten, Luc, and Santos. [You know you've made it in the pool world when folks can recognize you by your first name] :p

This will be the first time I've had the opportunity to see Mike Massey, world renown trick shot artist, in a billiards competition format. Larry Nevel and Keith McCready (my horse) are some of the other players who are hoping to get a piece of this $130,000 prize purse! :eek:

Sixteen players will travel to the host site, the Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort, on November 19-20 for the premier of this exciting new Skins format, made possible by former U.S. Open and World Champion Allen Hopkins and Billiards International. The finals will be telecast by ESPN, and admission is FREE to all spectators and railbirds! :D

November is right around the corner, and I'm looking forward to this. Actually, I can't wait! :D

In honor of JAM's 10,000 post, I am bumping this thread. It is very old and it is the very first thread started by Jennie. It may not be her first post though. This was posted about a week after she got her account. Then again, it may be her first.

It took 3 1/2 years for someone to respond to it and I am honored to be the one to do so.

LOL, damn, until I read the second post I didnt realize that it was an old thread. I was getting excited and planning my trip to Atlantic City in November.
 
LOL..I have a calendar of all the scheduled events I could find and when I saw this I thought "Damn how did I miss this" I was on the way to update it when I saw the date. :D

Do they even still do a skins game?

There was one if February of last year. There wasn't much promotion for it though. I found it when the link in JAM's first post didn't work and I did a google search. That's also when I noticed that the post was from 2004. lol.

I think it was the first one, won by Niels Feijen of The Netherlands, 54,000 U.S. dollars or thereabouts. After a third is taken out for taxes, expenses taken off the top, and the backer gets his 50-percent share, the grapevine (hearsay) stated that Niels pocketed a whopping 12 dimes. :)

That is why the monies earnings of pool players is truly deceiving.
