Cue Cabinet by Arounceville

You want some of this?

I have just received a custom cue display cabinet made by AZ'er Arounceville.

He is a stand up guy and his work is quality. The case construction is classic and clean. It makes the perfect addition to my renovated poolroom.

He did right by me in this transaction, this was actually the second display cabinet he shipped to my home. The first one, was destroyed by the shipping company.

The case arrived this week, crated and packaged nicely. It is made of cherry, and holds 8 butts and 24 shafts. It has a glass door, and a locking mechanism, for the door.

I almost have it filled, there is a spot left for my Titleist cue that is at Timmy's shop getting some inlays and a refinish.

My cues look so good in the cabinet, I am not sure I want to take them out anymore!:p

Attached are some pictures for your enjoyment.

Tony, that looks very nice. And the rest of your room as well (I just finished your slide show)! I need to have just such a thing for my pool room, although I'd prefer a full height cabinet where I could leave the cues together. But that style/wood construction is exactly what I'm looking for.

If you don't mind, can you pm me details of cost, contact info, construction time, etc. (or post it publically if you don't mind).

I'm heading out of town in a few hours but I can check-in late tomorrow evening for follow-up.
Cheers,
Steve

p.s. Are you by any chance the Tony who used to play somewhat regularly on Sundays at Orange Ball in Rockville?

The cabinet maker is Andrew Rounceville he goes by arounceville on these forums. You can always pm him for details and questions. Case took about 3 months to complete, as he had a few other projects going on at the same time. The first case was done much more quickly, but as I mentioned, I never received it because of a shipping disaster (shipping companies fault).

As far as I know Andrew is a one man operation, and does this work in his spare time. As I mentioned pm him for details/questions. Here is a link to a thread he made when he started out.

Case cost $390.00 with shipping. I believe he can do almost anything someone would want in a cue cabinet.

BTW I am not the Tony you know from OB.

The cabinet turned out exceptionally well. Beyond my expectations when I saw the thread and some of the sample pictures. Your pictures really hi-lited the workmanship, the design and some of the details. Great cabinet and you do have an awesome place for your enjoyment.

Question: When the cues are pushed up through the top of the cabinet, are the JPs exposed on the top or is there another wood on top of that to protect everything? If the JP's are covered, what would be that depth (only asking in the event that I elect to go after one and one of my cues has a long and fancy JP)?

Thanks for posting your pictures to the gallery and for sharing your vision to your place of solitude.

I had Arounceville build me an 18x36-3 door. It took about the same amount of time to build... and ALSO... arrived damaged by UPS. Fortunately, I have a friend that is a cabinet maker and he was able to repair the damage for $100. Andy (Arounceville) gladly paid for the repair. He's a class guy and does great work that is reasonably priced.

There is a wood overtop of the joint protectors. Depth is about 3.5 to 4 inches.

Thanks Tony. I've just looked at the thread (which I evidently missed both times this year). Very nice work indeed.

Hi Tony!

As a semi-professional woodworker (meaning I get paid every other job :) ) that looks like a beautiful case. I've been trying to come up with a design for one of my own and thats given my some ideas. arounceville is quite a craftsman! Looks like a terrific addition to your pool room, bud!
