I think I can definitely handle the five hour drive for this one. I'll be in Corpus christi for sure when this one goes down and I'd love to play in it. Let me know what to do to get my name in and I'll call tommorrow.

Cool!

To get on the list you can either send in your entry ahead of time or simply call anytime after midnight Friday and put your name on the answering machine.I will put you on the list in the order you call.

You still must be there in person by 11:00am or stand-by players will be awarded your spot.

Thanks,

Ray

Clarification

Does that mean everyone on the One Loss Side plays even.

Top players will have to race to 7 on the one loss side if playing a mid-level player. Mid-level player playing mid-level player will be race to 5. Top player playing top player will be race to 5.

Thanks

Let me know when you're in Corpus Jaden. I'll hit some balls with ya if you have time.

hmmm...i love the idea of a 10 ball tourney...but i hate the idea of penalizing good players to this degree...a 2 game spot with alternating breaks in a short race of 10 ball? i'd rather give up the 7 and last 3 in a 9 ball game.

That being said...truck...you've done some good things out there in waco...how much is being added? it just might be worth the challenge :)

A spot is not a penalty. It is intended to even up the playing field some. Your implying you believe this is crazy weight. What do you think would be even. All the tournaments are designed around input from you, the players. There have been numerous top players that have indicated they would like to come to Waco and play. I don't think the spot is as heavy as you are implying. I will be making changes as the event develops, based on input.

The current added is $165. As we get vendors and sponsors, the added will increase.

This event will initially pay 8 places with 40+, and 6 places with under 40.

Hope you can make it out and give it a try.

I think most think this is a reasonable spot ray, the added ball is added problems for most of the lower players, the 7 and the last three comment is almost ridiculous heh.

I understand wanting to level the playing field...alternating breaks is a good leveling of the field that i believe most have gotten used to (see Fast Eddies upsets at all stops)...i also believe that playing 10 ball as opposed to 9 ball is another leveling factor because of the difference in the break... a strong 9 ball break that many fear is less formidable in 10 ball.

i disagree that the extra ball prohibits weaker players from running out...the main difference in 10 and 9 is the break and how the balls lay...10 ball generally requires a bit more manueverability because the balls tend to clump at times...this can slow down a stronger player as well as afford the opportunity for the weaker player smart and take advantage of their opportunities much like in one pocket although not nearly to that extreme.

as for the spot...the 7 is going to come up how often in a race to 7? i go into a game thinking that the only way you win a game is if you break and run or i screw up...period...there is no other way...now if we are both going to 7 i get to screw up 6 times...but if you are only going to 5...that cuts my errors down to 4...furthermore...if we are both going to 7...you have the opportunity to give some of those errors back to my...however...if you are going to 5...there are 2 games that you don't have the opportunity to even screw up and give back. Sure...it's debatable...but i know there are many more players i'd play with 2 on the wire than the 7 and last 3....just line em up

so what's fair? who knows? i just think that player A going to 5 has a better chance of winning even if he doesn't play well...however, player B going to 7 is going to have to play well regardless or he's toast...i just hope that we get enough of a sampling to measure this one way or another cuz i'd like to see successful, regular 10 ball tourner.

I dont mind taking a handicap anyways... so no complains to me hehehe :D. A week after the 9-ball hoping it was atleast 2 weeks apart... I'll see.

If you have not played in the Clicks Waco Mid-Level event, you must PM me your full name ahead of time to determine your level of play.

We will use the same method to determine your speed as we do in the Clicks event.

Look forward to seeing some of you top players here. We really need as many top level players as possible to determine if the spot should be adjusted. If YOU are a top-level player, please come out and check out this event! The payout WILL be top heavy!! The winner and runner up will have a nice payday and the Champion here will have free entry into the Fast Eddies 9Ball Tour in San Angelo,TX the following weekend!!!
