the cues have found new wonderful homes

i have 2 jos cues. i haven't used them in a few years. i would like to give them to 2 young people who can not afford a joss cue.

i have a few stipulations:

1. you have to promise to work hard at becoming a better player, promise to practice faithfully. your parents can write the letter, but you must also write to the best of your ability.

2. you must promise to "Pay It Forward" - you can never sell the cue. When you can buy a better cue, you can only give this cue to another young person, but for free. you must promise this.

(if you do not know the movie "Pay It Foward" please rent it to know this condition.)

3. only emails to my email address will be considered and it is: smokeyblack@cox.net. as this is a personal issue, all letters are of a strictly personal nature and should not be part of az for others to see.

i want these to go to good homes for the benefit of 'our' kids. it is my way to say i am grateful for all i have, and to pass that on, and share it with others. especially my wonderful friends on az!!

i know many here are very rich, and some very poor and like me many in the middle. this is only for those that can not afford a good cue for their child due to circumstances in life. i would hope that these cues go to 16 year olds or younger, but if otherwise, it is opened to older children.

this is to give them the opportunity to grow and see that in life, not all is for monetary gain, but for fulfilment in life.

i just want to tell you all, this is my way to say thank you to all the new friends i have met here. and to honor you to deserve all the respect you have given me..

but i insist on one thing: no body and i mean NO BODY, GIVE ME REP/GREENIES FOR THIS. i don't buy respect.

i will post pix tomorrow, but know they are lightly played joss 04 and a jos 07.

please remember: only write to me at: smokeyblack@cox.net.

thank you,
miles

Miles ,
Hats off to you brother. That is an awesome gesture. As I know , Miles is a great STAND up guy. We met on this forum due to a friend in need. All I can say is Miles is one hell of a human being with a huge heart !
Good luck buddy, hope they go somewhere they are needed,

I always wanted a Joss but since I have a Varney on order it would be pointless for me to ask about getting one........Unless of course you want to :)

very nice

Sorry bud, I had already clicked on the rep thingie when I got to the part about "don't do that". I am also LMAO at Cubswin "cues on order - Joey Bautista plunger"

This is the nicest thing I have seen on AZ. - There was another post last week about someone looking for help to fix up tables at a Boys Club. This might be a good place for these cues.

This is a great thing to do.My hats off to you. This is the kind of thing that is going to help our sport.

It really would just be a handle, though might use it for a tomato stake. Haven't decided yet.

He makes a very very fine plunger handle/stake, highly recommended to any body that may need one. Of course I don't know if he's taking orders or not. First one I had took two years of begging, and then I had to sell it to pay off some bills that couldn't wait. Garden suffered greatly.

Great gesture from a great person... a lesson to all of us...

What an awesome thing to do. I just left a v/m for a woman in Northern Colorado that dedicates her time each week to teach kids in Greeley. I hope she gets this message in time because I'm sure she would have a couple of kids that would put the cues to good use - and follow your stipulations.

Again, great idea and offer.

man thats such a great thing to do. i just got into pool about a year ago but i feel it would be better in a younger persons hand than mine since i'm 21 and have a great job. maybe some time down the road i would do the same. my hat is off to you

Being a young player I think thats a great thing to do! I hope you give them to some promising young kids!
