As several of you already know, I have decided to put this James White cue up for sale. I bought it from Zeeder late last year and he got it from James in about August (I think) of 2007.

Specs: 60", 19.6 oz., balance point is at 19.5" from the end of the buttcap, 2 shafts at 12.85 mm, both with ivory ferrules, 5/16-14 piloted joint and a black lizard wrap.

Description: 4 points of ebony into a curly maple forearm, bridged recuts of ebony/double bloodwood/maple, bloodwood/ivory rings with ivory diamonds at all positions, "hybrid peacock" inlays of ivory with scrim/bloodwood and other diamond inlays. Everything white is ivory, including the joint and buttcap. It also has a custom joint cap for the butt.

One shaft is unused and the other needs a good cleaning. I need to check the cue over closely, but I don't believe there are any dings or marks on it.

Asking price is $4,000. I can email higher-res pics if you are interested. Thanks for looking.

Loved it when Zeeder got it....loved it when he put it up for sale....and still love it now.

That's a phenomenal looking JMW, Scott. Hope it finds a loving home soon.

V/R,

Mark

Awsome cue Scott. Good luck with the sale.

It was great meeting you in person in VF.

Take care,
Jimmy

Scott I don't even know you and I officially hate you. I want this cue...and I don't want to spend 4k....oh well. it sucks. nice cue by the way.

Since I had a bit of a hand in some of the design elements of this cue :D ...

All the veneers in this cue are hardwoods, no dyed sycamore or such. The veneers are curly maple (I believe) gorgeous bloodwood is the red you see everywhere in this cue, including in the ivory inlays (converging peacocks)...and Gabon ebony.

All the white, is ivory. I cannot remember if the bridged veneers are recuts or mitered...either way, the bridged veneers are some of the cleanest work you will find anywhere....with the exception of Mr Searing's bridged veneers. :)

The nose of this cue has some of the most premium curly maple you will find....overall, the cue is flawless in it's execution. Additionally, having a ballpark figure on what the cue's original cost was to build, the asking price is very fair. I doubt very seriously you would get Mr White to come in at that pricing for this cue now. Also, since the converging peacocks were strictly Zeeder's genius, good luck in getting this design built for you again....at least not from Mr White...and to have anyone else build would just be straight up design theft. BTW...I believe the build time on this cue was 18-24 months...if memory serves.

Yes....I love this cue...no, I cannot afford it! :(

Great looking cue Scott. The bridged veneers are the best.............
Thanks, bells. It was great to meet you at Valley Forge. Take care.

I agree that the bridge point design is incredible, and all of the work looks very intricate. Seems like a lot of cue for the price

A real piece of functional art, but the 60" part is going to limit the number of persective buyers IMHO

You could be right, Phil.

While I notice the extra length, at times, while playing with it, most of the time it feels like a "normal" length; balance point, shaft taper, etc. Being 6-2 it fits me nicely and the extra length is really handy on some stretch shots.

I think most of us taller people (I'm 6') are just so used to buying what is out there that we don't get used to the idea of anything longer. I play with 58s and 59s so I'm sure that a 60 inch cue would not only feel good, especially with that balance point, but would be nicer on the big tables.
If I have 4k to spend this cue would be sold.

never thought about a cue length for a 6'2" guy as I never made it to
6'0" so 57" - 58" is fine for me
